geojak, I believe that the pregnancy shows up a short time after contraception has occurred.  Also, the baby will stay in the hospital bed for two months/seasons or so.  I usually like to put a TV in the hospital room/wherever the baby is :)

That sounds like a fantastic way, of balancing it. I would still like to see cloning vats. As I think that's what "True" vat grown people are. I can't think of how to balance that though. Maybe, they can't be used till adulthood/teenagerdom?

That's not an inconsistency.  There has been a LOT of technological regression on the Rim Worlds, and much of those 3,000 years were spent by people in Cryptosleep.  If you want futuristic space-guns, then that's what the Charge Rifle is.

Not all planets are formed at the same time, like how most stars are older (and some younger) than our own Sun.  Therefore, not all lifeforms are at the same technological level as planets X, Y, or Z and their civilization(s). That is also assuming that there aren't any mass extinction events that act as a reset for the multiple species in question.  Furthermore, when advanced technology comes to a world with primitive weapons, it's easier to just discard the bows for the high-tech guns rather than find a way to merge the two technologies and/or properties.

Doesn't really feel like it spans 3000 years of future tech.

I've seen in the save log files that the year date is listed, in a way that makes it editable... Maybe you could change the year to 2100?

I more or less approve of this suggestion but feel that it is somewhat similar to what is already in place.  You can randomly generate characters, some of them having been created by the community.  You can also edit them with EdB's Prepare Carefully, and save the group of colonists to your files.
Why not just upload a copy of said files to the forums and deliver a group for all to play with that way?  Granted, they'd need EdB's mod but it is a similar solution that may or may not be easier. 

I am not a modder, nor am I a coder, but I wanted to add this in case it was a solution to the OP's liking.  I'm fairly new to this forum, and I've played RimWorld for a little over 4 weeks as well as shamelessly putting in over 300 hours of gameplay.

Have you ever looked up the map seed for your friends and family? 
I did this recently - I looked up the map seed for my first name as well as a friend's name. 
Mine pretty much sucks.... Almost all of the factions are (or appear to be) hostile.  Nowhere on the map is there a safe place from them. 
My friend's name, Carter, is actually not half bad! I have yet to play on it but it's on my "seed" list.

What about you?  Any interesting stories about map seeds named after yourself or others? Disappointed, thrilled? What about seeds named for a significant or poopy part of your life?  (e.g., "horse" for the horse-lover, "war" for the veteran, "pink" for the breast cancer survivor)

Let the storytelling and commentary begin!

Hey! Just wanted to say thanks for this mod! Completely love the mechanics behind this and can't wait to see what C&P's future holds :) 

Have yet to download v0.1j - still using v0.1i - over concerns of crashing and whatnot that I read in previous posts but I shall follow the progress with excited anticipation!  ;D
