Help / I need your Royalty DLC game saves!
February 27, 2020, 08:55:03 PM
I am updating Rimmap (see sig) for the new Royalty DLC but I need active game saves to test it.

I am ok with any size however I need them to be free of game-changing mods. Thanks in advance!

Help / Re: RimWorld core art source

Anyone had a chance to pull all the latest Royalty DLC art assets yet? Need to update my Rimmap viewer for the new DLC.

I recently re-watched Pitch Black and my god if its not basically a Rimworld story.

A ship crash lands on a strange planet with a colorful cast of colonists/crooks/glitter-worlders and even an abandoned child. They find that they are not alone and have to collect the components to make a ship to get off the planet.

I googled to see if there was any discussion on this, someone did make a scenario (for 0.15) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=770214723
and the "Bio Raptors" from the Movie have been added in. However I just wanted to get my two cents out about the striking similarities.

Also Riddick is cool as heck, any good traits people can suggest to make a Riddick in game?

This also made me want to suggest that Rimworld should add a new threat but they only appear at night. Right now night is not really a threat (unless it gets super cold) but I think it would be awesome if the game had something like a "werebeast" from DF.

I am a Slave to "New".

I want to do anything new;

Make a new base (Rimworld)

Start a new project (Programming)

Make a new city (Cities Skylines)

Make a new prison (Prison architect)

Make a new galaxy (Stellaris)

Honestly most games I play I have the most fun at the beginning then get bored as the game matures.

Is itch.io 64-bit? My save crashes the applet at render when the browser process hit 4GB of memory usage.

Hi sorry for the very late reply.

The 64-bit or not shouldn't be an issue as the code is all rendered in browser.

Its possible your game save is too big, could I ask you to share it or give me some details like;

  • How big is it in tiles? (250x250, 350x350 etc...)
  • How big is it in MB/GB
  • Is it heavily modded?

I would love to look at your save because I am planing on adding some QoL changes in the near future.

Again sorry for the super late reply.

General Discussion / Re: New save files
November 07, 2018, 11:05:01 PM
I can give some incite here as I am building out a Colonist builder in Rimmap.
First you have to find the following in the save file;
-- <game>
    --<maps>
       --<things>

now <things> is HUGE, it is basically all the things on the map including your colonists. You can search for <def>Human</def>and find there stats there.

If your colonist is off the map then you can find them inside <worldObjects>

Tools / [TOOL] Rimmap - Map & Save viewer for the web
November 07, 2018, 09:29:49 AM

click image to goto  jamessimo.itch.io/rimmap

Description

Rimmap is an HTML5 Rimworld Map and Save viewer that lets you view your Rimworld saves (in your web browser). Rimmap also has a backend service that allows you to upload your save file to a server and access it via URL so you can share your maps with your friends. (2019/05 This feature is defunct due to server costs, will try to replace with a new host in the future)

Please feel free to add requests or bug reports in this thread. I will maintain this thread as the main Rimmap thread, if you are a developer and want to add to the project feel free to fork and make a pull request with your changes.

Right now Rimmap does not support mods but I am working on letting developers add there mods to the github repo.
The change log will be maintained on the Github repo.

Would love any feedback in general, you may have seen this tool before around the site but it has had a lot of new updates and more to come!

RimMap

A tool that lets you view your Rimworld save in-browser! Will soon allow you to view all your colonists.

Use now on itch.io!

Not on steam

I do not know where the flak jacket is :(

Also need the new "heavy smg" and the sniper turret

Only one, was bed ridden and would only move for Yayo. Ended up giving him some Lufi and let nature do the rest.

Shameless plug, if you want to see what deep resources you have on your map you can use the RimMap map viewer I built in-browser.

Version 4 is out!
This is the last update before making a large push to b19! (version 5.0 of the app)

https://jamessimo.itch.io/rimmap

The core features are;

  • Added Sandbags
  • Beta 19initial support pass (bridges and new tile types)
  • Added ability to share maps via URL
  • Added deep resource view
  • Default to non HD textures to fix crashes on windows machines
  • Show item hit points
  • Removed "Filth" or invisible items from tile click

Please try out the share map feature and share the URL here! I would love to see all your saves!

The app works with Beta 19 but is missing a lot of new items which I haven't had time to add yet.

Turn on debug mode, and spawn items?

Yer if I cant get any saves by this weekend I will do it. Away from my gaming PC during the week so wanted to get a save to play around with. FYI an advanced v1 game save would be fine too!
