Trying to get into dwarf fortress, any good tutorials?
The Dwarf Fortress Quickstart Guide (http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Quickstart_guide), of course. What else?
My sole walking stick on my journey climbing the learning cliff is this page, always by my side when I play DF. It's okay if you get your first couple fortresses die early. What's important is the lessons you learned during the deaths. The reflex memory for hotkeys needs training too, if you value your play time.

Checked for myself, 2015 there was a WH mod, and a 40k mod is in the works right now ..

well there's silverdragongaming, he plays a whole heep of dwarf fortress and cataclysm(another rpg tileset you should check out) he's really good at explain it all in his tutorial videos, he has a few. some a bit out dated but could help.
