I did a little testing before work in god mode. I can build a handgun but, not a R4 or Minigun. Also, I cannot prioritize working at the weapon station. Very strange.

I noticed the following item in the change log:
- Raw potatoes, berries, meat, and herbal medicine will rot and can be refrigerated to prevent rotting.

You might try the Synthmeat mod to fix the meat issues. It is labor intensive but, I think it should be for balance.

This one would be super sweet. You could even have 2-3 set position saves if you wanted to go nuts. But, one for the "here come the raiders" scramble is just a must.

A noticed a very nice mod that adds odd-sized tables which might help here: https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=6670.0. Heck, I would say it does not hamper balance in any way and would be a good candidate for inclusion in vanilla Rimworld.
