Just a heart crib. Something small to be my first mod. The art is a bit messy (tried my best first time doing virtual art as well as modding) and on one bed the baby doesn't sit right (If anyone has a clue how to fix this lmk. I'd also be interested in joining a modders discord or something if anyone knows of one for rimworld)

Hope you enjoy ^^

Actually, you only *need* one.  ;)

But you don't need both "east" and "west" - the game will flip them to get the other direction automatically. (Or maybe if you have "east"(?) it will flip it and you don't need "west"?)  Anyway, the system will do some of your work for you, if a mirror image is acceptable.

Thank you I will keep that in mind ^^

Don't forget you should made 4 art's for each direction one.

Yeah. I just wanna 100% finish one direction at a time.

I didnt pursue the first one for further directions because I did I quick switch in the children and baby's photos to include the first one, but it didnt properly fit the mods baby ^^

Welcome to the forums.

Sooo.. what's the question?

Modding in RimWorld by itself isn't hard. It can be overwhelming, confusing -- but overall it's not hard. RimWorld is a very moddable game, and adding content is very well supported. A lot of popular mods on the Steam Workshop (like Vegetable Garden, EPOE, More Vanilla Turrets) are done purely in XML. If you can read English, you can make an XML-mod.

XML however is limited to what the game offers/supports/provides. If you wish to go further than that, you'll need C#. Some people immediately think "nah, too hard" and give up before they start. While learning to program can be frustrating, it's certainly possible to go from 0 to "oh whoa this actually worked". I know this, because I learned C# purely from modding RimWorld. I knew nothing before, and now I've helped dozens of others take the leap.

Thank you all I needed to know ^^ I'm gonna give it a go, thank you for the encouragement and welcome.

On a side note, my first variation of a crib based on children and pregnancy was a bit of a graphical flop (it looked nice, but not right direction) But i think im doing well for my first virtual art rodeo XD

I'm a bit of a family fanatic which is why pregnancy and child care mods are my niche ^^

Flop art experiment:

Better but needs some fixing up patches: XD

Hello, I'm considering making my first RimWorld mod, and was wondering how hard all of you would consider doing such a thing, for someone with little to no modding experience. (Is it doable, etc) Thank you in advance ^^

Sorry if this is wrong section for this, I'm usually mostly a lurker.

More Specifically I absolutely love the children and pregnancy mod, and would like to put my own spin on it (Ambitious I know)

I already tried my hand at doing some virtual art for first time, and it wasn't as bad as i thought.

Got a crib concept already, and I made sure i understood the children and pregnancy licensing (even if I decide not to directly use it, it was still an inspiration so i believe that still counts as deserving of credit)

Anyway, here is img (Not finished yet, need to clean up, and add some shading to make it look less like a solitary blob, and finish airbrushing it, resize, etc but WIP and not bad for my first try I think XD)
