Remember folks. It's not about winning or losing your colony.
That being said, if you lose, you're still a loser.
*snicker*

What's your best losing story?
One time I afk'd and raiders killed everyone. It was supposed to be paused

Stormkiko

I had Raiders get into my base once. I only had one guy left and there was only one exit so I grabbed a Molotov and burnt the place down with the raiders inside.

This is awesome.

Same, two dummies in this room.
Just to add; "Losing is fun", quoting Dwarf Fortress.
Skill,

It totally belongs to have its own story aswell.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

my best losing story? I once lost my original 3 colonists to squirrels. got that (radiation/psychic wave [forget which it is]) thing that sends them mad about 3 times in a row right at start on randy random

Ender

The voices in my head tell me to burn colonists....

Bodog999

My best losing story, well got attacked killed all the raiders and all my men/women incapacitated and had only 1 guy left which could doctor or warden so....

weemcast

Early on (still only had the 3 colonists), one of them went mad and I had to lock him up...

...Raiders then showed up. In the end, I lost my 2 colonists, and they had one raider, who proceeded to enter my cave and walk right up to the door that my only surviving colonist was locked behind... he stood there for a minute at the door, and then walked away. I then got the message that the "raiders" were leaving... and eventually my colonist died.

It was fun imagining the raider looking through the door and thinking... "Slow death for you..."

Lol! thats awesome

Vastin

Lost an all out intense firefight that resulted in the death of all my colonists as well as the forward third of my base burning down by the time it was over.

The only survivor of this debacle was a single prisoner left in the rear of the base, who was stuck looking out through the slot in his cell door directly at an acre of still-functional hydroponics arrays as he slowly starved to death...

RedStorm58

Raiders came in from the north, quickly destroying my defenses. I had retreated to my second fallback line when a message came up, "a raider party has landed!"Crap, right? The raiders were still planning, but there were in the direction of the south line. I was able to defeat the first ones, the other party decided to attack! Had to run the whole army to the other side of the colony; but buy then, they have already enter the place. The surronded the troops and i had one of them to run out and burn the walls. Everyone died except for that soldier, Kile. He died a few days later from hunger.
When you're young, everything feels like the end of the world. But it's not. It's just the beginning.

Coenmcj

I Buried all my troops alive when I timed a blasting charge incorrectly, I was retreating to my final fallback line inside of a mountain with raiders in hot pursuit, I started the charges (and they would of survived if they had not done this) but then my soldiers decided to turn around and start firing at their pursuers which resulted in the blasting charge killing a quarter of them and the roof killing the rest.

I had 4 prisoners and a noble in the back of compound, who were behind several layers of rock from the nearest paste dispenser, the noble only managed to recruit a single prisoner who died barely one layer of rock from the dispenser, The rest died because the noble couldn't recruit them...
