I got into the game during the A13 period. After A14 was released and RimWorld got onto Steam, i got my Steam key and have since then played it via Steam. Recently, i decided to re-download A13 for nostalgia.

That got me wondering, are there any ways for me to play older RimWorld versions, A12 and older? I have the prototype pack and all that stuff is super interesting, i want moar! Thanks!

So i found a website called Inklewriter (https://www.inklestudios.com/inklewriter/) which lets you make your own interactive stories for free. I always wanted to make my own games, and i thought this would be a good place to start. I learned how to use it and lo and behold here's a game:

It's a sort of RPG, and i've spent a lot of time on it. I only have the first chapter done and it's still in it's beta stage, but i spent alot of time on it and i'm proud of it! I hope you like it!

Also, after you complete it, make sure to check out the blog (Located in the extras menu), it has some strawpolls i need answered.

Before we begin with the story, i want to thank everyone who read my previous story which i cancelled, Total Eclipse. And a huge thanks to Vaporizer for giving me praise and suggestions, and made the short amount of time i put into it meaningful.

Oh, and fun fact: The three tribesmen in Total Eclipse that got names, Fredrik and Kaios, and Kuku the leader, are actually all named after players of another game, Haven & Hearth.

If you don't know what that is, i highly recommend you try it out. It's a F2P hard-core, perma-death wilderness survival MMO, and is, along with RimWorld and Unturned, one of my favorite games of all time.

Anyway, this story, or diary i guess you could say, is one i will be working on from time to time. I most likely won't be able to write very often, but i hope for it to be a good read.

Diary Entry: 1
5009 August somethin' (I have no idea what day it is.)

So...hey. Name's Sophia, or Marbles, as my friends like to call me. I'm 16 years old, going on 17 in a few months. You don't know me, and i don't know you. In fact, i doubt anyone will ever read this. But you'll know what this is in a minute.

You see, one day, i found myself in a strange pod. I had nothing on but a tattered hospital gown, and the top hatch for it didn't want to open. I heard ear-shreddingly loud ripping sounds, and wherever i was was shaking like crazy. Inside was this old, empty note book, and so i've decided to keep it, and keep a record of whatever happens.

Right now, i'm just kinda sitting here. Not much is happening. I click the "Open" button for the hatch every now and then but nothing ever happens. I'm starving, i feel like i haven't eaten in years.

Oh, actually, i probably should have mentioned i have no idea why i'm here. The last thing i remember was my friend said she was going to a party, and wanted me to come along. I didn't do much there. I remember sitting on the couch, and that's it. Now i'm here.



It's been about two hours since my last entry. Some kind, strong boy named William helped me out, says there was a bunch of junk on top of a my...whatever i was in. He's kinda cute, actually. (Oh gosh i hope he doesn't find this.) Neither of us know what happened or where we are. He says he's pretty good with computers, so he's staring at some console-type thingy while i sit over here writing this.


Diary Entry: 1-2
May 17th, 5573

...Hi...Notice the date? Well, it's been fifteen minutes from when i wrote the last entry. Turns out...those things we were in? Cryptosleep sarcophagi...And were not on earth, were on a huge space ship. Somehow, someone or something, stuck us in those cryptosleep watchamacallits and froze us, and now were 564 years in the future... All our loved ones are gone...were all alone n...(A tear dropped here, washing away the ink.)

Well, at least th...(Another tear)...nt a total loss. I sat down quietly sobbing, and William came up and put his arms around me and hugged me. Score!

Atleast my dad and brother, the only ones i respected, had died two years before in a car crash. My mom was all i had left, but she pretty much went insane after that, and constantly blamed me for the crash. I didn't care, i knew she was just in really sad. My life really took a turn for the worse then. I was horribly depressed and pretty much couldn't focus on anything the next year. But then, i met a nice girl named Amanda, and we became best friends. (Actually, she was my only friend. She's also the one who invited me to that par...(A T started to form, and ended with a long line down the page.)


Okay, sorry about that. William startled me. He was actually reading the entire time i was writing about my family. (No, he thankfully didn't see i wrote "SCORE!" in huge letters.) He comforted me, he too lost everyone...everything he cared about.

Oh, say, i didn't really give him much of a description did i? He's tall, muscular, and has a smile that probably made everyone his friend. He...


Oh my gosh that scared the crap out of me. One of the other cryptosleep things just opened with a tall, skinny guy inside. Apparently his name is Arthur. Along with me and Will, he doesn't remember anything, and is currently sobbing in the corner after also realizing he lost everything, like me and Will. I'm gonna go comfort him, write to ya later. (And btw sorry for all the stinkin' interruptions. These two pages are a mess.)

Steam mods don't work and simply say "Downloading..." in the mods list when Steam goes offline.

At first i thought it was mods, but i've been fiddling with them for AGES and no avail.

My Expectations Mood Buff is all over the place. Sometimes it's gone, sometimes it's extreme.
Sometimes after i disable some mods, it's back to Very Low like it should be, but enabling more causes the bug. However i don't thing mods are actually causing it. It's really weird and in my opinion game breaking, because my colonists moods are always terrible.

Jam came up to Suntop for the third time and began talking romance to her. She was wiping the tables, and simply tried to ignore him, as she had done the last two times. Eventually he asked if they wanted to start hanging, maybe go see the stars tonight.

Then, Suntop snapped. He had been asking to go out with her ever since she joined, and she was fed up with it. She turned to him with a heavy breath, about to yell at the top of her lungs.

But...something stopped her. For the first time, she actually took a good look at Jam. He had beautiful, green eyes, and had a smile that suggested he didn't have a care in the world. He had long, brown hair and sported a Synthread jacket he constantly kept clean, probably to impress her.

She just stood there for a few seconds. Jam assumed she was disappointing with him, and began to walk away. Suddenly, Suntop grabbed him by the arm and pulled him into a kiss. They both forgot about they're troubles. About nearly starving, about living in a cave.

Then Jam realized his brother Joe was leaning against the wall watching with a smirk. "Dude!" Jam yelled, as Suntop giggled. Joe rolled his eyes and walked away.

Jam looked at Suntop with a nervous smile. He tried to back away but ended up bumping into the table. Suntop chuckled at him, and waved goodbye as they both went back to work.



Yep. Jam is a guy in the colony who WOULD NOT STOP WOOING EVERY WOMAN IN THE COLONY! He was REALLY desperate for a soulmate, and about 20 minutes ago irl he got one.

I started this thread not only because i thought this story is funny, but because i'm on permadeath mode and have a funny feeling something bad is going to happen soon.

I'm deleting the old RimWorld files since i now have it on Steam. Besides deleting my save data, which i don't care about, how will deleting the old files effect the new, Steam ones?

A colonist has a case of Malaria that is currently 41% immune and major. That's totally unfair! She grabs 2% of immunity a day and she is at 98% immunity gain speed. There is no way to survive this, so i'm asking what file to look in, where to look, etc to get rid of the Malaria for good. 

Chapter: 1   "Five more minutes!"

David found himself stuck in a cryptosleep pod and awoken to the sound of huge,
ear-shredding ripping sounds. Panicking, he fumbles with the release switch, but something is jamming the hatch. He looks over his left shoulder, and there's a small screen with his girlfriend, Chloe's name, and his good friend, Austin's name on it.

He touches his lover's name and it zips to a video surveillance of her. "Chloe? Chloe!" She looks over and yells, "David?! HELP! HELP ME! I CAN'T GET OU-" "Don't worry...uh...do you have a release switch at the top?" David looks back at his at bashes it. The hatch tries to open but gets stuck on something, as if something fell on top. "Um...yes...but i hit it and nothing happened...OH NO! I'M GONNA DIE HERE!" Chloe bursts out screaming for help, and tears run down her eyes.

"Chloe, don't worry, i-i'm gonna get us out of this. I'll be right back." He tries calling Austin and the same screen pops up. Austin is still sleeping, snoring as always. "Austin! Austin wake up!" David smacks the release switch again, hoping it would throw off whatever's on top. "Ugh, five more minutes..." Austin open's his eyes and looks around, panicked. "Wait, WHERE THE HECK AM I?!" Austin kicks the hatch with his feet, trying to get out.

"Dude, listen, there should be a big red "Release" button at the top of your hatch." Austin looks and find it, punching it immediately. With a scrape of rust on the hinges, the hatch opens and Austin climbs out.

"Wait! Dude! See if you can find Chloe's hatch and pry it open with something!" Austin looks around, seeing a large, slim piece of metal on the floor, along with tons of crap from things flying around hitting consoles. He grabs it and see's a pod with a sticker stuck on it reading, "Chloe Ravner". He thrusts the piece of metal into the hinge and pry's. He yells for Chloe to try the switch again.

The hatch blasts open, and some metal that had gotten stuck in the gears fly's into Austin's arm. "Gagghh! Dang it! Stupid, piece of crap!" He kicks the pod, hurting his bare foot in the process.

"W-where's Dave?!" Chloe looks around panicking until she find a pod with a sticker reading, "David Fording". The pod has a huge piece of metal on it. Austin and Chloe grab it and yell for David to click the button. The hatch opens pushing the metal off and David climbs out. "Holy crap, it is SO claustrophobic in there." David says breathing heavily. "Tell about it, it's like they-" Austin was cut off by an explosion.

The gang starts running the opposite way, reading signs until they eventually find the escape pods. They all climb into one, and before they all launch, David looks down the hallway to see another man running towards him yelling for help. David stepped out ready to run and help, but alas, the roof caved in onto the man.

Austin grabbed David and pulled him into the one remaining, small pod right before it is launched. As they float around in space, toward a unknown Rimworld, all they can think about is what they are going to do next.

Suddenly they look out and see the gigantic ship they were on explode. Some shrapnel flew quite close but they thankfully made it out safe. It was going to be a good hour or two before they reach the planet, and they all lay down and fall asleep.
