Description:
Genetically engineered as part of a Prehistoric Revival Experiment, the Mamuffalo is a VERY large herding herbivore and peaceful unless disturbed like it's cousin the Muffalo. While somewhat coarse, mamuffalo wool's long fibres make it very strong and provides very good insulation. Wool clothes can keep the body warm even in extreme conditions.
Mamuffalo can be kept like other farm animals.
They produce wool and the females are milkable.
Tusks drop when butchering.
They are also fully trainable.
When adding Mamuffalo to a saved game, you have to manually add all parts of the Mamuffalo to their corresponding storage areas.

I'm not a Steam user for reasons I won't go into, but, I'll think will about it.
Baconbits, I love your mods - at least fireplace and wall torch that i've tried, thank you for them.
I like your wall lamp texture better than the default standing lamp so I spent a few minutes and made an electric version which glows the same color as the torch but a slightly smaller radius, complete with colored variants (red/blue/green/white). The base for it was the a14 version (which worked in a14) and all of my stuff is in a separate file 'EWallTorch.xml' so it should drop into your latest version no problem. feel free to include/use or not - just wanted to give back a bit.

@Dave-In-Texas: Well this is a first for me. I'm happy you like the mods. You Electric Wall Torch's are very nice. I think the A14 Texture works better as an electric mod. I will add it to the OP so everyone can grab it.
New Mods ;)

These mods look fantastic! wall torch/light, fireplace, barn? Why hasn't no one thought of these before?!

That's exactly what I keep saying to him :p
How about replacing the flame of the electric torch with a small light bulb?
@Serenity: My concern is that it would be too similar to the wall light in the Additional Lighting Mod. But, I can play around with it.
New Mod :P
Fireplace Updated.
Getting this error with the Pack Muffalo:
Quote
XML Error: could not find Parent Node named "AnimalBase" for node "PawnKindDef". Full node: <PawnKindDef Name = PackMuffllo"
:(
And with the Fireplace I now get something about "Could not resolve cross-reference to Verse.ThingDef named Bamboo"
At least it happens just as I load that mod. And when I remove and restart the game the error is gone. Earlier it worked, but I just switched as many mods as I could to Steam. But I'm not sure if I had the latest Fireplace version before.
This problem I know. Just change "AnimalBase" to "AnimalKindBase" in the code.
"AnimalBase" was in prior versions (A13?A14?) IIRC
I'm currently working on modded animals ;)
@Serenity: Thanks, I'll get on them both.
Both are fixed and the links are updated. ;)
Hey BaconBits,
Love the mods, thanks for creating!
I am having a bit of an issue tho with your Barn Stall and Animal Feed Trough mods. Both are throwing the same error upon game startup about the target version. Screenshot of the debug log is attached.
Thank-you!
[attachment deleted by admin - too old]
Glad you like 'em. Version should be fixed now, links are updated. ;)

Thank you very much!
BaconBits, Are you aware of a possible BEP (Bug/Exploit/Problem) with the fireplaces regarding their
"consumption" of wood? I just noticed that a fireplace i built, but did NOT fill with wood
heats as good as the one next door which i DID fill with wood after construction.
I closed the room with the "broken" fireplace and am now waiting out the 7 days period
to see, if it isn't just burning from some wood that was "put in" as it was constructed.
(the small window says "Fuel:0/50" but maybe there's some hidden stuff?)
The chance for an exploit is not really THAT big, since you cannot forbid colonists to refuel it.
But to me, that's still not how it should work in a simulation :)
@Arnold Rimmer: Thanks for the feedback, I'll take look at it.
Your mods and mod updates are rather amazing. Have you considered uploading them to the Steam Workshop as well as here? Many people would enjoy your animal related mods, for example.
Those look absolutely great! The best mods are often the ones where you think, "Tynan should have thought about that!" :)
I do have a suggestion, though: "Alpha" muffalo for the males confuses me. Alpha animals are usually the one dominant animal in their group, male or female. How do you feel about "Muffalo bull" instead? Also, sounds a bit like the RimWorld version of Buffalo Bill as an added bonus. ;)
Keep up the great work and thank you for making the game experience richer!
@Mackinz: Thanks, I'm happy people like them. I am not a Steam user, but, if someone wants put them on there all they need to do is ask me. :)
@Chrysander: The Pack and Alpha Muffalo Mods are not mine and I was only given permission to update not alter them. It's difficult to make just one male the alpha. If possible, that would require C# coding which I don't know. I hope you're enjoying the mods. :)
~ New Update ~
Goodness no, I wasn't suggesting to implement only one of the pack to be the Alpha. That'd be quite work intensive as you say.
Thanks for your answer and yes I'm enjoying the mods a lot! :)
I've noticed that several traders also use Dromedaries (camels) as pack animals for caravans. Any chance you could also make Pack Dromedaries like you have Pack Muffalos?
These mods are great!
The fireplace looks awesome. Definitely helps my colonists feeling at home =D
Hi, Baconbits,
I love these. The graphics are gorgeous!
I'm tinkering with some cooking-related mods; I'd like to incorporate your fireplaces, if you don't mind? Obv, I'll credit you and link back to this forum post for the originals. (For ref, I'm using Steam.)
I'm poking around in the Fireplace code; I think some of your intended Joy aspects aren't going to trigger. "Social Relax" is working fine - as far as I can tell (I'm new at modding), that triggers off the "CompGatherSpot" that you have in the building base, and that's all you need for that. But it looks like you want the colonists to do some meditating at the fire, too?
Have a look at the Core files in Defs/Joy/JoyGivers.xml . I think you need to invent a fireplace-specific <JoyGiverDef> in that style, proooobably analogous to the ones for PlayChess or WatchTelevision or UseTelescope, depending on where you want the person to stand. And an invented fireplace-specific <JobDef>, like you would find in Defs/JobDefs/Jobs_Joy.xml. They might look something like this (I'm riffing off the PlayChess example, to use the SitAdjacent-ness of it):
<JoyGiverDef>
<defName>WarmHands</defName>
<giverClass>JoyGiver_InteractBuildingSitAdjacent</giverClass>
<baseChance>1.5</baseChance>
<thingDefs>
<li>FueledFireplaceSmall</li>
<li>FueledFireplaceBig</li>
</thingDefs>
<jobDef>WarmHands</jobDef>
<joyKind>Meditative</joyKind>
<!-- I think this part refers to the pawn's health status. If they can't see, they can't play chess. I'd chuck this for warming hands by the fire... unless maybe they lost their hands... but am just commenting it out for the example.
<requiredCapacities>
<li>Sight</li>
<li>Manipulation</li>
</requiredCapacities>
-->
</JoyGiverDef>
<JobDef>
<defName>WarmHands</defName>
<driverClass>JobDriver_SitFacingBuilding</driverClass>
<reportString>warming hands at the fire.</reportString>
<joyDuration>4000</joyDuration>
<joyMaxParticipants>2</joyMaxParticipants>
<joyGainRate>1</joyGainRate>
<!-- This is where you would let the Joy activity give skillups to something, if appropriate. I'd chuck this for warming hands by the fire, but am just commenting it out for the example.
<joySkill>Research</joySkill>
<joyXpPerTick>0.002</joyXpPerTick>
-->
<joyKind>Meditative </joyKind>
</JobDef>
Good mod.
But I think you should merge some mod packs.

Is the mamuffalo meant to only attack once every real life day? And if not, is that a issue on my end or yours?
Im willing to bet its a issue on my end, and If I just reinstalled it it would go away, and I will try that, but ya know, may as well ask now.
Thanks BB! Mamuffalo on the loose!! :)

If you made wall torch why not wall lamp?
because the electric wall torch is a fancy lamp :)
I've just noticed the Mamuffalo has his cooldown between attacks set to 100s, giving him a whooping total of 0.1DPS. You read that right. Is this intended behavior? As of right now, a group of three of them could probably be taken down by a rabbit.
I'll have it fixed soon
Mamuffalo Updated
I really enjoy the fireplace mod, but I think I found a problem with it.
I don't think the electric fireplaces have any heat generation. Built a small electric fireplace in a 5x5 room, failed to heat anything. Installed a vanilla heater, instant heat. The fueled fireplaces seem fine, but the electric ones drink 400w of power for zero heat.
Now, I've never modded anything super seriously, but I did open up the ThingDefs/Buildings/Fireplace_Building. Looking through, the fueled fireplace have a heat push of 30, whatever that means. (I think I know what it means...). The electric fireplaces lack any such information for heat.
@TLNTG: Thanks for the feedback. I will look into it.
Fireplace fixed and up.
It's about mamufallo. By default they can't be used as pack animal. But we have PackMamuffalo texture. So i added <packAnimal>true</packAnimal> to Races_Animal_Mamuffalo. It's work, but instead PackMamuffalo texture now i have this really pretty purple square.
(http://i.imgur.com/Mz9FPgc.png)
How to fix it?
p.s. Sorry for my English.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to do any more updates of fixes for a while. I am going to be without internet for a few months. Sorry
Cannot haul mamufalo corpse to any of stockpiles unless «allow all» is set. Is it the creature's problem or some other mod messes things up?
Hey there!
There seems to be an issue with the fireplace mod. I cannot use it for cooking, as no bill options show up.

The electric wall torches aren't appearring on my architect menu, but the normal ones do.
I tried deactivating the normal ones and putting the electric at the bottom so it loaded last, but nothing.
I had that too. It's in a different spot. Look in Miscellaneous.

Maybe you have a conflict somewhere or you added the line in the wrong place? I've just put it in line 45 and while it doesn't use the texture for the pack, it doesn't give a purple blob.
On another I noticed that shearing gives Muffalo wool because it's set to that in line 29 which is an oversight I think. MamuffaloWool is declared and works fine so it's just a matter of replacing the wooldef.
Just noticed that Animal Feed Trough (VG) and Barn Stall suffers from the "buildings are build instantly" problem.
This is because in buildings <WorkToMake> has changed to <WorkToBuild>, but RW doesn't throw a error and instead just defaults it to 1 work, so it is easy to overlook.
I'm only using Animal Feed Trough (VG) and Barn Stall, so you may want to check for this in your other mods as well.

I saw the notice that the OP can no longer update the mod, so I updated it myself so that Mamuffalo will give proper wool.
(I will also try and make him give soy milk to see if possible)
LE: made them give chocomilk from vegetable garden, works without any problems. (not in the updated file)

For those that have this problem with a pink box or missing bags on the pack mamuffalo, it is caused by the fact that the texture files in "\Textures\Things\Pawn\Animal\Mamuffalo" have the wrong name.
They say "PackMamuffalo_back.png" but to get the textures to work they need to be named "Mamuffalo
Pack_back.png" and so on.
This solved it for me anyway, hope it helps. :D

I see this as well, nothing pops out as being wrong in the xml,
I thought this worked at some point prior so I wonder if it's a mod conflict. Any chance we can get access to the source? I'm sure it would be pretty easy to debug
@BaconBits
Sorry you are without internet for months. When you can, please consider adding an option to stop fueling the fireplaces. Even in the summertime when the rooms are warm they are consuming fuel (fully stocked lasts 4 days). I don't know if it is limited to generators, but the fueled generators have this option. If code limits this, perhaps one workaround would be to give the fireplace power generation at a very low level and / or not provide a connection. Just so we can choose not to refuel them.

(i downloaded and used the a15 version on the frontpage for my a16 save)
lemme check if this fixes things.
Though when i tested the pack alphamuffalos with the dev mode they spawned fine... (with textures)
only when i was playing normally did the traders show up with some pink alphalos XD
I'm currently updating those to A17 at the moment. As BaconBits said he will be gone for a while I will upload them here. Unless or until he ask otherwise ;D

I can't do it right now, not on the right computer.

Actually, that was the first thing I tried, without success. It's why I pinged you here asking for help. After asking around in the Discord, spdskatr helped me solve the problem with an xpath patch as below. I'm not sure exactly why that one line change you suggested won't work any more, but at least now it seems to be working without any obvious issues.

Some A17 Updates are available now. A huge shout out to KapTaiN_KaVerN (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=43580) for the updates posted on page 6 while I was absent.
Fireplace Mod updated to V1.9 A17 (see the OP for new update)
Cooking removed for now due mod breakage , sorry for the inconvenience.
Ok, the Mamufflo and Alpha Muffalo updates complete this list. Hope you enjoy and if you have any issues let me know.
A17, I LOVE YOU! These are some of my favorite must have mods.
However, PLEASE add a "turn off" option for the wood fireplaces, as they continue to burn in summer and consume resources.
@Tanelorn...Making the fueled fireplace flick-able won't work. The only way I know of is to just forbid it from interaction.

Actually forbidding it is fine (although I don't want to see the giant X all summer). I don't remember seeing a forbid option. I am using a mod that lets you uninstall everything so that's my current solution (but not realistic for a fireplace).
Hi Baconbits!
I installed your Alpha Muffalo mod and it seems to be invisible. Could you help me troubleshot this? :)

yeah, I'm currently working on a fix. Thanks for the feedback. :)
Oh Bacon no need for a separate version for my Vegetable Garden. I have a patch that automatically adds silage if your mod is loaded with mine.
Cheers.
Fireplace is now forbiddable
Alpha Muffalo fixed. They should spawn normally with working textures.
Animal Feed Trough for Vegetable Garden is now discontinued.
A Big shout out to ~ dismar ~ for patching V.G. to add silage to the feed trough.

Also, if possible, the wall torch needs to be a permanent fixture. Currently if you don't refuel them, they disappear. 5 steel down the drain per torch.
.
Are the wall torches meant to block an entire square? The images in the main post suggest that squares with wall torches are still passable to pawns and zoneable for items.

They take up a space.
Did they not in the past? If they take up a space, at least for my play they are not a useful alternative to the standing lamp once its power usage is adjusted.
Barn Stall
Small bug i just noticed, your barn stall still uses "WorkToMake" instead of "WorkToBuild" and is therefore build in one tick.

Quick question - are the alpha muffalo and mamuffalo compatible with A Dog Said?
From what I can see, the Mamuffalo has carrying capacity (300) but it's info doesn't have Pack Animal - Yes like muffalo and other pack animals. Also the tusks seems overly valuable, almost as much as Thrumbo horns but they come from animals that are a lot less rare and tough. Overall a good mod though.
Hey Bacon! Not sure if you're around right now, but will your mods get an update to B18? Thanks!
If he doesn't shows up, I will do the update, like previous time, no problems

Thanks for update, makes my colonist's homes have a more 'homier' feeling.
I noticed a bug (or feature): the fueled fireplace's don't require fuel, to heat a room, beyond the first refueling.

Do you use other animal mods ?
Did you try to move that mod at the end of the modlist ?
Edit:
Hmm when these Mamuffalo got some white stripes, i would call it Baconmuffalo.:-)
Is there a way to make the barn stall accept 4 small animals? As it is now, only the 2 front spots are being used. With my large overcrowded barn, it would make more since right now to use the vanilla animal beds, sense I can get 4 of them instead of 2 in the same space. But I really like the barn stalls and want to keep using them! (and I probably won't swap them out just for the aesthetics...) Is there anything that could be done? Thanks! :)
BaconBits, please consider the following improvements:
1. Fireplaces. Fireplaces continue to burn and consume fuel even in summer in the heat. Please implement an option to stop fueling / burning like the switch used for other items.
2. Wall torches. Even though they use steel, if they run out of fuel they disappear like regular torches. Please make wall torches permanent fixtures.
Got the same bug like avyjeha.
There may be issues with your mod. Cataloged at https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=38296.15
B18 of the Fireplace mod is bugged, freezing pawns and creating a massive amount of log errors. I think it is related to the added/ modified jobs.

I have fixed the problem by removing the changes to jobs.
Go to the Defs folder and delete the three job related subfolders, only leaving the ThingDefs-folder and the CoreAbstracts.xml.
Fireplaces and campfires work fine now and they can still be used as a gather spot.

hoping for a 1.0 release of the Mamuffalo and the wall torch mods...I miss my big furry friends...
In my opinion the fireplace mod is the most vital mod to update as it is the most useful. A permanent source of indoor heat pre electricity that isn't a freaking campfire.
can't wait to see Mamuffalo for 1.0 – it painted so beautifully, fits vanilla perfectly.
I really miss the barn stalls and food trough.
EDIT: The barn stalls seem to still work but the food trough is pink.
I feel like i'm going to miss the Alpha Muffalos a lot... :(
I have updated the barn stall and the feeding trough and both wall torches mods to 1.0.

I guess it doesn't hurt to try bringing them to 1.0?
Could the Barn Stall and Cobblestone Floors be updated for 1.1 by someone? Please?
I see above some people made updates for 1.0 for them.
