Title: [A12d] Sound changes to the MVP
Post by: Soundwizard on March 26, 2016, 08:43:30 PM
I'm a big fan of the mod variety pack but I felt that it was a bit silly to hear ears being cooked, medicine being fried and water buckets being grilled.
I work as a sound designer professionally and I thought I could change some of these sounds to better enhance the experience.
I have recorded quite a few strange machines over my career which includes some hospital equipment like blood analyzers, they make fantastic disgusting sounds.

Now, it is important to note that this is by no means me picking on or belittling the choices made for the audio in MVP, but as a personal preference, I rather hear a bucket being lowered into the well.

As these are sound replacers, you might want to go find the original sounds and rename them to *_old or something in case you're worried about them being replaced.

Stay safe out in space.

All you have to do is extract the folder into your Rimworld folder and it should work, unless an update to the MVP has happened.

These are excellent.

As these are sound replacers, you might want to go find the original sounds and rename them to *_old or something in case you're worried about them being replaced.

But odds are you won't want to go back ;)

Thank you, I'll add that advice on the post.

These are pretty awesome! I'd love to see more sounds replaced with realistic and immersive ones like these.

Thank you. I might do more. Time is always a factor in post-production.
