YES! POTATO ART EVERYWHERE!

1. There is a "Do until you have X" in the queue for production buildings. It is not exactly what you're asking, but it is very useful. I'm sure it can be applied to things like hunting. Not sure if it is necessary though.

2. Frequency? Sure, why not? On the other hand, these are the RimWorlds and its not like you'll ever know if a trader is going to come back on schedule. This is not an Industrial complex, it's a colony in a world in the middle of nowhere. Slavers are a little rare though.

3. Has been suggested, no complaints from me.

4. You do know that for cooking and production building one can set the range of gathering so the "going to the four corners of the map" thing doesn't happen? I never had a major problem with it, I'm not sure if I've even seen such a thing in a while. But then, I always keep my stockpiles close to the production areas.

5. Not sure why you're keeping your major food stockpile near prisoners of even visitors, but otherwise things like this has been suggested. Visitors can be quite annoying in that regard. Until you wall them off and watch them starve to death that is.

6. Z levels have been denied. They are not a major priority and a lot of work.

I suppose it will be happiness related. The ability to draw, compose musical pieces, improve upon walls like engraving in DF.

I suppose you could also sell the paintings for extra silver or give them to tribes/colonies as a peace offering. Of course, this is just pure speculation on my part.

General Discussion / Re: Ship mechanoids

Surround the ship part with turrets. Lots and lots of turrets.

According to lore,  Mechnoids are "autonomous intelligent robots built for domestic, industrial or military purposes. Only available to advanced cultures because such complex AI is needed to control them."

So, one would need to somehow interface with the AI controlling them as opposed to the individual mechanoids themselves. Unless said mechanoids are specifically built for human interaction, I suppose.

It actually says Ordo inquisitors? Wow the 40k is strong in this one! I love it!
"Beware the alien, the mutant, the heretic."

I feel like 40k would Exterminatus this Universe.

But...there are no Aliens (Tynan has stated only humans exist in this universe), Mutants (Never seen anything even vaguely resembling a mutaant in game), or Heretics (Religion hasn't been implemented yet so you can't exactly be heretical) in RimWorld? Lol.

They WOULD however definitely have something to say about the Mechanoids and their forbidden A.I. technology that doesn't involve lobotomizing a person and sticking them in the machine.

As a whole I think the denizens of the 40k universe would approve of RimWorld because after all: "In the grim darkness of the future...there is only war." and we've got plenty of that!

Compared to 40k, Rimworld is actually pretty... NobleBright. You can't find any Glitterworlds in the Technologically regressive Universe that is 40k.

The Imperium and its throne vegetable takes the Grim-darkness award anyday.

Also, to be fair, we're not sure how much war there is in the Rimworld Universe. Glassed planets caused by Nuclear war and raiding in the outer-rim worlds can't be compared to the sheer amount of war in 40k.

Also, with the quote "Beware the alien, the mutant, the heretic." I was talking about the lore described by @MoparGamer  as opposed to the current Rimworld. Anything mutated beyond Psykers is HERESY and will be *BLAM*ed with extreme prejudice.

On the other hand, we don't know all that much about Rimworld lore so it is too early to reach a verdict on anything.

This... is actually a more cost effective way than surrounding it with turrets. Put it under a roof and collapse it. Dwarf-Fortress drawbridge style.

I believe that's a fire-prevention measure as opposed to a cleaning one. Fire can spread from outside the walls so might as well put them out before it happens. Also, your colonists should really be drafted during a.... Zombie apocalypse.

And we need a use for those plentiful skeletons.  I hate burning things that can be put to use.  Bone crafting FTW!  (I bet tribals would LOVE to buy them!)

..I wouldn't mind skull throne either

Tynan should make that a special event/easter egg where a psychopath gets a "strange mood" and makes a skull throne...

... and then opens a warp rift causing the entire planet to fall to Chaos and that colonist to be ascended into daemonhood. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!

Somehow that doesn't make me feel any better.

Where do the AI cores come from anyways? Why are there Mechanoid ships routinely crashing on RimWorlds? Or are the Mechanoids a defensive system for the AI core as opposed to separate entities?

No, no. Everything gets more and more grimdark over time. Such is Sci-fi.

Are you sure that's just not the mechanical adaptation to EMP grenades that one of the raiders is carrying? Not why turrets should adapt to those though, they are not as... complicated as mechanoids.

Speaking of mechanoids, do we have any lore on those guys?

Adding more parts might not increase efficiency, but it will probably end up increasing redundancy. Everyone's going to become Klingons.
