Hive dies from lack of maintenance while insects sleep - bug?

I've seen two times now on my map that hives have died because of lack of maintenance while their insects were sleeping.
In both cases it happened over some time.
The hives took 20-50% damage each time their maintenance need came on during the night while their insects slept.
I assume this is not working as intended?

Hmm, we should make them more resilient to that.

I was thinking maybe just adding some healing whenever a bug did maintenance on the hive.
That would even be a pretty natural thing to happen.
