Hi Yoshida,

I just wanted to say that lightning rods are indeed mentioned in the frequent suggestions list. It doesn't make it a bad idea, and perhaps you are the first to think of it as an alternative power source rather than purely as an attractor to protect your other objects, but all the same it is on the list of items specifically asking people not to generate new threads for. I feel like erdrik was pointing this out simply because you clearly missed it, I don't think the intention was to say that you are intentionally breaking the rules. It's spiralled a bit out of control now, I recommend focusing your energies on other topics.

Yes, I do recognize that I missed it, because I was looking for the link format of yellow underlined so that I could read the so far missing old thread. Which I wanted to read. The problem from my place is that telling somebody not to discuss something because it was already addressed in the past sounds too restrictive when it is said without back-up. And I got upset because of the "half-assed" follow up replies.

I will put a simple daily life example:

Background: You are working an office job with a partner. He borrows your pen so at the end of the day, you meet him again and ask him: "Can I have my pen back?" To what he replies: "I left it at the office", so you go back to the office and cannot find it after looking for it, so you go back to him as follows up:

You: "Where in the office did you left it?"
Him: "I told you in the office."
You: "Yes okay but which room? 01, 02 or 03?"
Him: "It was 02."
You: "Where in 02?"
Him: "In the drawers."
You: "Which of the four drawers?"
Him: "The green one."
You: "There's two that are green."
Him: "The darker one."
You: "The drawer has 16 compartments."
Him: "On the top one."
You: "Which of the four tops?"
Him: "The most right one."

Now, how different it is if you had another partner that would answer you:

Him:"I left your pen in room 102, inside the darker green drawer, right most top box".

Basically, everybody that replied here except you are of the first kind. I don't like to be surrounded by people who give me half-assed answers. As the phrase goes: Your company tells who you are.

I would have reacted completely different if from the beginning someone could have posted me a redirect link to said "already discussed thread". At least people should have the chance to read, why it shouldn't be discussed anymore.

So far for me, when rescuing outsiders or capturing enemies, I know that the medical care tab shows after they are put to bed, so I was surprised it didn't show up this time. Danke :D

Since it is a jobtype some Pawns could be incabable :-D

Or get a mood debuff.

Also I like that you want to call it a ludus .. this would open soooo many possibilites for prisoners and wild animals

I loved the TV series Rome and Spartacus...when I saw in game the clubs...couldnt help to remember the Coliseum... Prisoners beating each other at it...causing mood buff due to entertainment lolz. We would be going full at capturing pirates hahaha...

I got more creative after posting actually, we can also suggest these as background in character creations. Like for instance, there's "game developers"...who might be sitting in front of a computer 24/7...so it would be a lot of fun if: Shooting, Melee, Construction and Mining would have minus skill points. lol. These aspects could only be improved after pawn adulthood lol, but of course, mature stage is not something players can orient characters to develop...a pity...

I don't like society's taboos or stigmas or prejudices, which is one of the main reasons people live in fear due to the different or unknown. If creative people like game developers cannot inspire us, we are in trouble. I still remember Sid Meier's civilization IV disclaimer:

"When determining which seven to include, we picked those religions that we thought would be most familiar to our audience. We do not mean to imply that these religions are more important, better or worse than any other religions.
We offer no value judgments on religion; we mean no disrespect to anyone's beliefs. We're game designers, not theologians."

I searched "medical care tab missing" on the engine and got no results. I also read the pinned post that asks for two things: the saved files by looking at open saved files in the game menu...but I don't have that option. Can I have a graphic example of where should I look into? Same with the logs, I have a MacPro but don't see that anywhere...Machintosh HD >>> Library >>> Logs... and the only other folder with items is Diagnostic reports, which is not where Im supposed to check I think.

What I do have is the screenshot:
https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/854972893777913443/3715AE2DFD937818F796654BE5F4749B77FE417B/

It doesn't have to be the administrator but any reader. I really want to learn to properly report bugs but the pinned post isn't clear enough for me.

Experience is the base of knowledge.

We all start from somewhere. I recommend you don't take these memories in a negative way. This is because Im playing in Ice Sheet biome now and bugs with their jelly and lamps are praised as food resource and what it terrifies you now will someday in the future be the most valuable later.

Last reply to you, if you don't talk about Lightning rod, I don't care what you say. The only positive thing about you is that by continuous replying you will keep providing me free publicity as the thread will keep bumping up to the top of the forum. I don't get anything else from you off-topic-ing to something else. I just came here for a new game feature, which clearly...Im the first to come out with it.

You are missing the point here.

I haven't broken rules 1 and 2, so I don't know why quoting me with underlining means anything to you. Its a matter of scepticism, the first account speaks of having been reading this forum for a long time, but has just one single post. I hardly believe there's users who read without participating, with their first comment being of this nature. Its a common troll behavior know as multiple account users. And there's nothing wrong at getting upset towards people who direct you somewhere else with links that do not reach said "previous threads", which up to this reply, nobody has been able to link me to, neither did you by the way. Which, simply can be resolved by linking such thread itself instead of large unnecessary arguments, this is my third reply in this topic and nobody of the other three so far has shown me where such discussions are. You could have just simply linked the old thread and finished once for all all this dilemma. From the way I see it, you are just adding more wood to the fire.

Telling them the suspicion of multiple accounts and self-defeating replies do not constitute threats or insults.

If you can't link to the old thread, you are not helping. Which is what should have happen in the first place if repeated discussion is your problem. My tendency to post always have complete and self-explanatory titles, so I know I post better than the average who write poor descriptions in titles so in any case, my posts are more "correct" than others. Key word lightning rod gave no results, which is the best combination besides thunder, lightning or electrical power. So all this unnecessary snow ball will never melt if you keep arguing with no sense at all.

Just to be clear, the deadfall traps will not kill the bugs, they are meant to just hurt them so they slow down. Basically, what you need to do is to land a shot with the longest ranged firearm you have and run to safety, then repeat the same action several times until you kill a bug one by one. The bugs don't chase forever because they need to guard and tend their hives. And when you run away from the bugs, instead of hiding in your base, run in another direction so that they won't attack your colony instead. You will see them return to their hives.

Just to give you an idea, I can handle bugs myself while playing with Lost Tribe and using neolithic weapons, as in short bows only. So anybody with gunpowder weapons has much more power to deal with bugs.

You people who try to police others are really more a problem than a help. Basically here we have one person who apparently is following the forum for a long time but has to create alternative accounts for one single post. Which basically is the same cowardice tactic of throwing a stone and then hide behind the bushes. People who can't even face others to their faces but cower in anonymity.

Once again in failing to the topic, a listing is not the same as a link the "apparent" old thread that existed somewhere in the past, but again failing to direct the reader to it. Which basically produce more noise than sound. Just causing unnecessary drama with no benefit at all and just wasting my time. I hope you do know that all forums have the feature to track users IP, and once all three match to a single serial number, any administrator can block your account which seems to only have the purpose of trolling. Im not giving you any more of my time which so far you only wasted.

Just started playing RimWorld a few days ago and what can I say? I am addicted to this incredible game.

Today I wanted to dig a hole inside a mountain, inside this mountain there was a room and inside this room there was these pods and insects. They created one hive and I was not aware of that they reproduced until the second Hive came. I tried to fight the biggest of them but it ended with my colonist needed to get rescued and since then I haven't been even close to this place.

Image of the situation: https://gyazo.com/899dcfbf78e38cb392757dab6afac3c8 (didnt want to post the pic here as it was increcibly big and ruined the whole format of my post.)

However I am afraid they will eventually reproduce near my base and my whole colony will become slaughtered by these nasty ugly insects.

I saw a post about this in the forums from 2 years ago and it was inside someone's home area so I have no idea if they have changed something so I just created a new topic.

Anyways, my question for this post is: What is the most efficient way to get rid of these insects? Anyone got any creative ideas?

When the bugs are sleeping, build deadfall traps in a chess table pattern. Do this work at night. The bugs have a chase range of 30 to 35 tiles, use the plan grid to draw in your map how long they can chase you and just have a shooter hit and run as much as needed.

Rimworld needs a FUSE to limit ZZZT events.

I don't care how expensive it is to make.   I hate ZZZT !!!!

It is excessively punishing for someone with tons of batteries.

With the potential to kill pawns (fire) and destroy a large swath of my base.

This person is making misuse of the forum and the suggestion section, pretty much like his/her other posts. Every time facing a new adversity, chooses to come here and whine. Our Whimp in the forums. ...Instead of trying to figure it out first....no....mommy!!!

Lightning rod gave me zero results. It's always funny when people try to "police" others but then their own words are empty of content. Instead of random bitching around, a link to those apparently some time ago "already" discussed topic (if really existed) would have been better.

Plus the opening topic of your link doesn't list Lightning rod either...

Either be "really" helpful...or go do something else.

Although in real life you cannot transform lightning to electricity (I think) usable in electro domestics, I would really love to see this in RimWorld. Who's with me?

Battle was good, you fought 3:1 and won thats something!

That was my first Twitch watch and don't know if you can reply like video but I think I saw your sniper manning the mortar... of course you were caught while your guys were sleeping and managed to rush things but kinda better to keep your sniper shooting than at the mortar.

Whenever invading an outpost you can stay until 0.1 and reform the caravan. I usually stay at their base so that I can heal my guys, mostly because I travel like up to 7 days instead of making outpost just a few tiles away...its like too much work for little, but since it was your first attack thats okay.

The game is kinda tricky to capture a base, because the doors get the option to claim them only after reaching a close proximity range and you cannot see that until get there, so its understandable why your first reaction was to deconstruct.

Once you claim their rooms, you can turn them into hospital or prison to capture their downed.

Good game.
