Off-Topic / Muscle-stimulating nanobots?

We've already got metallic bones so why
can't we humans have more technology
that works for us? Is it even conceivable
for people these days?

Ideas / Re: If RIM World had voice events from the AI

I think the game needs old flak towers and rim destroyer
spaceships stranded in canyons for raider base-building
before that.

With every colony I've started I've
grown daisies, potatoes and corn.
I'm waiting for artichokes to be
introduced since my pets keep on
eating all my crops.

Ideas / Re: Wild and Wacky Biomes

I suggested a new biome last year. It was filled with nectar shrapnel shoots, red hot poker plants, hot springs among metallic grid ruins and electrical storm-filled canyons. The suggestion was for a board game that my family played.
Now, Tynan hasn't proposed any new advanced civilization ruins map. At this point who knows what he wants to do with Rimworld? Could we face a map where colonists can't disassemble new, rare metals foreign to Earth? I think the question is how to deal with family members having sometimes terminal neurotoxicity. Could we even find a cure? There could even be particle fluidity problems among hot spring pumps.

Also, the canyons could be filled with gypsum to help trees grow faster indoors once mined. I think it could be explosive though. Perhaps Tynan will allow us to put new plants in petrified wood too. However, I'm not sure if such a biome should have some acid rain that causes enhanced deterioration of clothing that's being worn. Tynan would know better whether such a biome would be suitable for Rimworld.

  Aromatic disorienting zones and electric
whirlshock storms are expected. However,
I'm not willing to accept responsibility for
doctors becoming too sick to doctor and
heading into whirlshock storms.

Certain pets would be more effective in combat
if they could come with a chance of freezing raider
vehicles, spit mud at raiders' eyes or set grass on
fire with their fiery breath. If the pets are unlucky
they would probably have a chance of disrobing
your colonists or disarming them.

Ideas / Re: New Map Idea - Underground Caves

Yeah... you're probably right. Having colonists spawn in a (randomly generated) nuclear submarine-like cavern with seismically active, undulating surrounding rock would be too boring for fans.

Ideas / Re: Do we really need rimkids?

Rim kids would likely start off being wild.
Therefore, they would have to be tamed by
psychiatrists who understand where they're
coming from. Also, they would need to
volunteer for electives as nurse assistants
or repair apprentices (with additional paid
training bonuses based on crop harvest).
Potentially Rim kids could even prank call
raiders on their beep bop ad lib music
device implants.

Stories / Smokedrift Parcel...
November 29, 2016, 10:00:46 PM
Brought to the surface by extroardinary extra-planetary
pressures were three explorers resurfacing in their cargo
pods. The community of Smokedrift Acres was founded
as soon as 18 year-old Defector Flo 'Tess' Proctor, 20 year-
old Housemate Lottie 'Brenna' Jung and 21 year-old
Overwatch Sniper Mitchell 'Gunnar' Everson turned their
attention to colonization of the cruel and unforgiving
landscape of Rimworld. Replaced by the sheer magnitude of
their assignment were the passionate kisses of their loved
ones.
As self-appointed leader of the group, Defector Tess
had burning passions for shooting, medicine and mining.
Having been a frightened child, she was incapable of the
scary and of the artistic. In spite of this, Tess was a
prosthophile, iron-willed and cold tolerant.
Then there was housemate Brenna who had been a shop
keeper. While being a prosthophile and hard worker, she
was also incapable of nothing. Brenna had burning knacks
for social (etiquette), medicine and construction.
Rounding out the squad was Sniper Gunnar. He had burning
savvy for a variety of skills including shooting, animals,
construction and growing. In his childhood as a naturalist
Gunnar proved to be incapable of intellectual, social, and
artistic endeavors. However, he proved to be steadfast, a
nudist and a prosthophile. Obviously he would make for
a fine lieutenant.

Tynan promised me more prismatic imaging
overlay technology for mapping out features
of suits and suit-integrated technologies
to enhance the senses of colonists.
