I want a mod where installed floors prevent infestations on those tiles.  Or at least certain floors.  maybe wood or flagstone do not prevent it.
I was looking to see if I could do it strictly in xml, but it looks like I would have to do a dll.

Support / How-To Handle Steam/non-Steam Mods?
March 04, 2018, 01:58:00 PM
I have the non-steam version of rimworld.  I do not use steam, so I am only sort of familiar with the way it works.  I have been building a mod-pack for my own use and have been getting mods from the forum and github.  I am now aware that there are quite a few mods that I would like to use that are ONLY on steam workshop.

I found a greasemonkey script for d/l without a key, but it does not work for rimworld.

I would rather not have to setup a steam version and then copy over the mod folder to my non-steam game.  I am not even sure that would work yet.

What are my options?

Mod bugs / Modded A18 Crashing on Debian 64bit
February 14, 2018, 02:09:01 PM
I get a few mod errors from the Apes.  The game starts fine.  After a few in-game days.  The game process just quits.  Usually without any error, sometimes a mono error unknown.

Mod bugs / DebugBindings.gen.cpp Line: 51

(Filename: /home/builduser/buildslave/unity/build/artifacts/generated/common/runtime/DebugBindings.gen.cpp Line: 51)

I am on linux.  I am troubleshooting game process suddenly exiting without error.  I have lots of mods.  The message above is spammed heavily in my log file.  I don't know if it is related.

I was getting issues trying to go back and forth between different rimworld versions with different mods.  All of the game config is kept in ~/.config/unity3d and different versions altered it differently.

I wrote a tiny bash script that moves the unity3d folder back and forth to the specific versions folder.  So each directory with rimworld in it, will have its own config folder (ie like minecraft).

If you are running linux, this script should work for you.  Just drop it into each new folder of rimworld, and run it to play the game.

WARNING: This can effect other Unity3D games.  If you player other games that use unity, you will have to modify the script.

I understand there is a certain risk involved when using add-on content from the community.  That being said, is there a better resource for troubleshooting when things go wrong?  As it is now, I play my colony, almost never until all the colonist die, but until my save no longer loads.

This is very frustrating.  I know that I am not the only one that pumped 10s or 100s of hours into a colony, and then try to load it and get the rainbow color screen and no colony.  If I am screwing with mods or mod order, then shame on me.  What if I just saved my game for the night and this happens?  How do you go about finding out where it went wrong?

I have looked over this forum a few times, but the search function is kinda lame.  I would think as often as this has happened to me, there would be a sticky at the top of the mods category.

As of now, I am starting a colony from scratch again.   Bleh.  Would be really nice to see the end of a tech tree one day.
