My English will destroy your monitor!  8)

1.Better AI - currently our survivors too quickly give up.
2.Alcohol from the leaves of the agave - + to morale
3.New raw material. Oil and generator, oil of course, you need to extraction (something like factorio) :)
4.Rotting corpses (Putrefaction?)
5.Trade in food and raw materials.
6.Scenarios.
start as survivors of a spaceship crash (currently)
Started as colonizers have multiple resources to start
Bandits: None of raw materials, only weapons. We take over the enemy base.

Don't worry my Monitor is still fine... But my brain is another story... :P I agree with your ideas, it would be really nice to have different starting scenarios!

Dont forget with alcohol comes fuel. You could have an entire tech system based off of agave farming harvesting, fermentation and application. From drinks to ease the worries of your colonists and fuel to power generators. Also brings psychological problems like too much alcohol and then a sudden lack thereof.

Imagine some raiders just laying siege to your colony and cutting you off from your agave, leaving you in the dark and suffering DT's. Margaritaville becomes your grave :/
