How to feed the animals in zones

Is there a way to feed hay to my animals, they don't seem to eat it.

Make a stock zone and put the kind of food that the animals eat

You dont need to feed Herbivores, they will eat the grasses on the outside. animals will only eat Hay if they have no other choice, prepare yourself some Hays for things like toxic fall out or winter.

ssdg is right, hay is a last resort really for them to eat like humans eat raw food, and herbivores will eat grass so it's good to just leave them in outside.
