I know there is a lot more. I have to go to work. I'll add more later.
Thanks for the effort, but if you get the time can you add descrioptions? Not like a paragraph or anything.. It's just nice to know what you're downloading. A sentence would suffice also you don't have to add the descriptions... I just thought that if you get the time you could do that.
Thank you for the list it helps.

I personally think the desc should be the responsibility of the modder. The first three line of each mod should be a simple title, link and one-sentence no-nonsense description, which would really reduce the hassle of maintaining this list.
Agree that alphabetized is nice, although I'm also of the mindset of sorting by release date (which makes it easier to updated, and easier to follow new additions).

Would it not be easier to simply use this: http://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/Mods
And just keep that up to date?
I second that. It fact we could just copy this list. Of course it would need formating. I think I could whip up an Excel sheet that you could just add mod details and it would automatically format it appropriately for the wiki. Then all you would have to do it click sort, then copy and paste. What do you think?

I've already volunteered to maintain the wiki as soon as all my update work for my mods is done (I just finished today) and would appreciate that Excel sheet. I've been using a simple .txt file to do it so far. It would also be nice if someone would join me in volunteering to help maintain that wiki.

Here you go. It's currently set to reproduce exactly what's currently on the wiki.
To use;
- Update the data on the second page then sort it.
- What you need to copy will be on the first page.
- Make sure you copy enough lines on the first page to match the number of lines on the second page
- Then copy it all into into Word. You need to do this to get rid of quotes it would otherwise add.
- Then copy from Word into the wiki and it should paste correctly (you don't need to save the Word document).
Note: this Excel sheet doesn't add the top of the table or anything that follows it. It only does the lines about the mods.

Lol. Whoops. That's what happens when I stay up way later than I intended to watch a documentary and then fix a mod. I was way tired and apparently clicked on my other mod thread to copy the address. I usually try to avoid making stupid decisions like that, but apparently sometimes they happen anyway.
Not sure how your browser handles data containing hyperlinks, but perhaps you could write the bbcode into the cell with the address, second column mod name, third column end the url tag.
Export as comma separated values (CSV), open with a text editor, and use search and replace to remove the commas, then paste into top post.

yeah not familiar with kingsoft, but I was thinking a concatenation of "",cell2," (http://",cell1,") with cell1 being the URL and cell2 being the mod name. Copy and paste values, then you are good to go.

Yeah, people still care. Humans just don't generally voice their opinion unless it is a negative one. I'm glad I'm not a human.

Yep. You're like a...giant...panda...cub or something right?
Well for what it's worth I appreciate the effort to keep this list going..takes a bit of time to do, and that time spend saves me 20 mins of searching. I think a sticky might be worthy here. 8)
Tbh, after letting rimworld be for about a month or so, now I am feeling overwhelmed with mods.
Dk what to play with :/
Sure, Rimworld has been on my PC since Oct 2013. I have played Vanilla, heavily modded, taken breaks all together ect. Either find a purpose to the mods, set up crazy scenarios and test whatever, or whatever strikes your fancy.
There is always taking a break to return in an alpha or 2, that's what I did, and now I'm fully back into the swing of things. Good luck figuring it all out!
This is incredibly useful and I've bookmarked it, just so you know.
I also really appreciate the effort you have put into this. I leave this thread open in a tab, and check it every day.
Thank you :)
I also find it hugely useful - thanks for volunteering for the rest of us freeloaders!

The Medical Training mod is just the download link, not the thread. Does it have a thread? Is that intentional? I just like to know what I'm getting into before I download/install it.
Nice work on the list btw!!
And I noticed Clutter isn't on the list, it's updated now: https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=2541.0

The link for "A9 Medical Training" is broken, it doesn't open a thread, it just downloads the mod.
The Stargate faction mod at https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=7869.0 has been updated on page 5, just not by the original modder so the title still reads A8, however I can confirm the update does work.

I've got no idea how to do that... Just bookmark it.
A moderator or tynan can have a thread stickied to the front page. Where it stays. Like the rules thread stays.
Thay way people don't miss out on this versions mod :D
Edit: Expanded prosthetics has been updated to alpha 10.

Totally second that, would be really useful at the top so we can keep an eye on stuff we're interested in!
could you mark new added mods somehow? I know about alphabetic order but that could help people like me (i don't check forum every single day)
example:
A2B: conveyor belts & co. *the* 31st century solution to all your goods transport issues. - 17.IV
Just Updated my Mod.
https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=6636.0
I think the best way to view new mods wound be to just use replies.
An older version of this thread for a previous alpha was stickied by a mod, but the stickie was removed by tynan because that makes this thread too official.
Updated

Yea. It tried my patience just keeping the list up to date. I don't have the motivation to organize it anymore than just keeping it alphabetical. Maybe I'll add a * in front of each one later or something. That's just about all the effort I'm willing to put forth.
Yellow wall of ugly text >:(
Is it really that much to ask to format it properly? Why put it up on the first place if you are not willing to put in the work to maintain it? You are not doing anyone any favors by putting it here.
What's the point of this mod list when you say you're not willing to put any more effort into formatting?
That's literally the only purpose of this whole thread...
Nothing to stop you guys from starting your own mod lists. Except, you know, time.
Because this list is such a great reflection on the entire modding community.
Is this the standard we are going to go by now? The excuse you know, that some don't have the time to make an effort to use the proper standard, and formatting?
To clarify, if you don't like the list, feel free to start your own. All I was saying is that you need a bit of free time. :)
Can you underline or make the name of the mod a different color so it's more easily read?

It's actually very simple.. Just edit the text out of the hyperlink.
It will change
the mod name... the description and the whole wall of text that appears to never end and merge one mod into another.. (http://www.google.com/good+formatting)
into this
the mod name... (https://www.google.com/search?q=good&formatting=&gws_rd=ssl#q=good+formatting) the description and the whole wall of text that appears to never end and merge one mod into another..
(url=ACTUAL URL LINK) TEXT YOU WANT TO SHOW (/url)
replace ( with [ and it's done...

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be rude. It's just that this list isn't doing anyone a favor, since it's harder to read than the "Release" forum itself. He took his time to update the list and that's awesome, but if it isn't formatted nobody is going to bother reading through it.

Nothing to stop you guys from starting your own mod lists. Except, you know, time.
Exactly.
Quote from: Asero on June 23, 2015, 09:18:40 PM
Because this list is such a great reflection on the entire modding community.
Is this the standard we are going to go by now? The excuse you know, that some don't have the time to make an effort to use the proper standard, and formatting?
If you want to make your own list and keep it updated then be my guest. The reason I did it is because no one else was doing it. Don't complain about something you are getting for free.
Quote from: nuschler22 on June 24, 2015, 01:58:28 AM
Can you underline or make the name of the mod a different color so it's more easily read?
Be my guest mate. Adding mods to the list is all the effort I'm going to put forth.

Nice..
though your 1st post requires a bit more editing..
It's nigh unreadable atm.
Will check back tomorrow (actually in 2 weeks.. going to finish my current colony :p)
Yea. It tried my patience just keeping the list up to date. I don't have the motivation to organize it anymore than just keeping it alphabetical. Maybe I'll add a * in front of each one later or something. That's just about all the effort I'm willing to put forth.

TEXT YOU WANT TO SHOW (http://actual%20url%20link)
Sounds like too much work...
Just dropping by to say that I (hopefully) fixed Mending (http://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=10908.msg144193#msg144193) to work with Alpha 11.
Also, wow, looks like it's high time for a publicly-editable list. Unless there is one, then it's high time there was a very visible link to it.
Keep up the good work.

To clarify, if you don't like the list, feel free to start your own. All I was saying is that you need a bit of free time. :)
Sorry, I wasn't trying to be rude. It's just that this list isn't doing anyone a favor, since it's harder to read than the "Release" forum itself. He took his time to update the list and that's awesome, but if it isn't formatted nobody is going to bother reading through it.
Does not really matter to me. It was originally made for my personal use anyway.

Ain't my thread, I only updated the mod. I only saw the 'Alpha 11 Mod List' in the board and thought I'd drop the word here, so no big deal if you don't want to link it. After all, it's not an 'official' update.

Additional Joy Objects This mod adds new objects and activities that bring joy to colonists. Most of the objects in this mod slowly give points in different skills.
Please don't post a small part of the note and remove the word NOTE:, thereby changing it's meaning. The note says:
NOTE: Most of the objects in this mod slowly give points in different skills. This is not to gain levels, but to prevent levels from being lost when those skills are not being used. For example, a doctor can practice their medical knowledge in Trauma Vendor to make sure they don't forget anything during those long months with no injuries.
The skill point gain shouldn't cause colonists to gain levels, but there is an optional patch file that prevents any skill point gain if you would prefer to use it.
and I added it so people would understand that there are points gained, but it is a feature of the base game and not something new.

I edited a bit to make it more "digest" :) and use less characters (~17k/20k char. / to fit in the forum limits better as more mods will be updated to A11)
Seriously all props goes to InfinityKage ;)
i just used a notepad++ script to cut some words and automatically replace other (like tags) before re-reading it for editing (takes me roughly 5min and i guess he had to spend a lot more time than that while listing all of that :p )

and I added it so people would understand that there are points gained, but it is a feature of the base game and not something new.
Sorry about that. This took a long ass time and when I tried to post it when I was done and tried to post it it told me it was too many characters. I got mad and just started chopping sentences.

Much obliged mate.
A message to everyone. I don't keep this list updated because I like to. I do it because no one else was and I thought it would be useful. I originally made this for my own personal use and decided to share it simply out of the kindness of my heart. That being said. If you think you can do it better than by all means let me know. I'll send you the spreadsheet I use and you can take over the mantel. I'm lazy as hell anyway and would love less work to do.
You do a good job. At current there is no better way to do this then what your doing now. Unless it became a rule that all mods require to comment on here or like include the update date on there title. I still believe these should be stickied as they provide a great help for people.
Perhaps steam integration will allow mods to be subscribed too. That's a bit off though :D :D
GJ :D
I'm working on porting it on a Google Drive spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GB5GAQ9VhH3fobgUwRextiJmmoW7k5XFu8weIoQFMpI/edit?usp=sharing) atm
At first I was thinking about editing the wiki page but the first step is to establish a spreadsheet for easier editing and sorting. Mai by I'll do it after that.
Coming back to you all when it's "finished"
Also, should I start a new thread or post it there, as InfinityKage already said he doesn't want to do that indefinitely?
