Long Term Cryo

In a nut shell my idea is that lets say some of your colonists don't want to leave the planet or some really long term disaster is make life on planet too hard and you don't have a ship yet. You could make some type of bunker deep on a mountain or a really hardened building somewhere and add some kind of timer to a cryo pod. You set the time which can set to days, weeks, months, or years once that time has completed it will auto wake up who ever is in the cryo pod it is attached to. You would have to make this room containing your cryo pod fairly tough as you don't know who could find you while your asleep. You could also forgo the time and hope some one wakes you up. Any other ideas to this or what could happen while your colony is on ice?

You can do this already basically, just put everyone in pods, and then wait a long time. What normally happens is that raiders break your stuff then leave, or some people comeby and join your colony.
