The disappearance of tall grass

Hello,
I'm new. I was playing on classic on day 25-30. Without a event log or anything, all the tall grass on the map disappeared except for a few that were in my green house before the event occurred. I wonder if this is a common occurrence.

Do you have an error log? What mods are you running (if any)? What biome are you in? Did you check your outdoor temperature? Do you have a defoliator ship you forgot about?

Either a mod is messing with your save or there's a defoliatior ship in your map you haven't dealt with.
