Has anyone had this happen yet? I have tons of animals and I set them to follow various people, but none have ever earned themselves a name. It's making me quite sad :C

How rare is it supposed to be?

Ideas / Prisons becoming an Area

Now that Areas are implemented, I believe that prisons should become an Area instead of being defined by a room with a bed. I'd like my prisoners to be able to have separate bedrooms and a communal social-type area with a nutrient paste dispenser.

Bugs / Mechanoids kill animals they drove mad

Occasionally, the Evil Ship event will send out a psychic pulse that maddens nearby animals. The mechanoids around the ship will immediately attack these animals, as they are berserk.

Maybe there could be a difference between Manhunter and the berserk rage that the Evil Ship uses to weaponize them? To make them not hostile to the mechanoids and vice versa.

I understand this can't happen if the mechs are not yet patrolling, but when they are, this is literally their own ship attacking them and doesn't make sense.

Are save games before hotfixes compatible with save games from the alpha they are modifying?

Will a hotfix mean a new map like a new alpha did? I'm new to this process.

Bugs / Pawn does extremely rapid melee strikes

I was defending against a pirate raid, and one of my guys was firing at them from by a wall with a minigun. A melee pirate got into melee range of my minigunner partway through a burst and my minigunner appeared to spasm and the pirate died.

I looked at the pirate's body and determined that the pirate had just been punched 9 times in about a second or two. Apparently if someone is mid-way through a minigun burst and their target reaches melee, they continue the minigun burst as melee attacks. The pirate never stood a chance.

Support / Email for Creative Reward upgrade

I keep clicking on a mailto and I don't have a system set up for mailto. Can I just get the email address to punch in manually? I want to know who to email before sending my upgrade payment through paypal.

But the only way I see how involves a mailto, and I don't use a Mail program or anything that allows me to get the address from the mailto.

May I have an address for the "Support Pro Michael" before I send any money, please? :)

Ideas / Suggested Trading Overhaul

I don't know how many people agree, but I find the trading really annoying in its current form.

First, I'd add an option for Storage (at least on stockpiles) to "Allow Trading"

Then I'd suggest replacing the trading beacon with a trading station or platform of sorts.

On the comms, you'd agree to a trade, with all the items on stockpiles with "Allow Trading" set to "Yes" or "On" or what have you show up in the trade menu. Once a trade is agreed upon, tasks to haul the items to be traded to the trading station/platform would be available, and could be prioritized by selecting a colonist who can haul and right-clicking the trade station/platform.

That way, no oddly configuring storage settings and priorities for each individual item (or copy of an item) you want to trade. With the option to leave important priority stockpiles that can't have their items accidentally traded. Plus, no items degrading in the outdoors while you wait for a trade ship for months at a time.

I am not a coder and I am sure this would be a difficult overhaul, but I wanted to throw my idea out there all the same. Thanks for reading.

I imagine by his custom background, matching childhood and adulthood, and slightly more attention-grabbing nickname, that this man was a creative reward character, so I thought I'd register and share my short time with him, and hope the character's creator sees the thread.

He was visiting from a nearby city for a while, then as he began to leave, a tribal raiding force arrived from the same route he was exiting with. His companions were quickly overwhelmed, but he fought on to the last breath.

I present to you: Big Red's last stand. RIP you glorious bastard.
