But would they KILL for a Lavish meal?

...

Probably not. The mood bonus from those things is pretty decent and jealosy doesn't yet extend to anything but personal rooms. Can't wait for the lifestyle envy to be implemented. ;)

Rescue has a chance of them joining your colony as of Alpha 16.

The chance increases the more hostile the environment is. If there's no way they'll survive by themselves (e.g. very cold or very hot weather, toxic fallout), they'll almost always join. I've personally had 3 people join this way.

Makes sense.

My first and current A16 colony is in temperate forest and the two people I have rescued so far have decided to walk off after using 5 and 3 medicine respectively not to mention numerous fine meals. Herbal medicine seems to be reserves for scrathes and long term medication for how little it does nowadays. I believed they couldn't have survived without actual medicine.

If you rescue them they'll join your colony with a high probability.

I tested it out at dev mode with 6 refugee pod crashes and 4 joined my colony after I processed a medical treatment on them.

Rescue = treat & release
Capture = arrest (with possibility of recruitment)

There are no other options.

So which one is it? I have personally never had anyone join my colony after rescue, but I'm notoriously unlucky.

Penoxycline costs 3 neuroamine a piece to make and you would have to take it every 5 days to keep the effect active. My colonies go for on average months without having any Malaria, Sleeping sickness or plague; that's many many injections of Penoxycline that effectively did nothing. I would call that risk & reward. Of course if you have something like a thousand neuroamine that is no longer an issue, which is fine, but I find myself feeling the cost of that stuff for the first years. It's definitely more expensive than in A15.

General Discussion / Re: Why this game never go on sale
December 24, 2016, 12:25:46 AM
I guess the real reason is that the game isn't out yet. I suppose if you had a complete lack of trust in your game you would but it on sale regardless and maybe add some DLC too while you're on it.

I'm not sure about these new conditions caused by alcohol and drugs.

How is it calculated exactly? One beer a day should never cause any sort of medical condition for example, not even a percentance chance.

Yes, guns have been in need tweaking for a long time now. Combat realism mod is a good direction to take the gunplay in Rimworld.

4. Events happening all at once is just bad timing. There isn't really a malevolent design behind it.

This is incorrect.  Multiple events happening at the same time is by design.  The game periodically decides that it is time for some "fun" and will slap you with a dozen events in a short period of time.  Between these high threat periods things slow down a bit -- more so on Cassandra than on Randy.

Don't get me started about Randy. He is more than capable for brutality. Sometimes it's easy breezy coasting and sometimes it's to hell with him.

I'd like to see a Weather Station structure you could build that would give advance warning about this sort of thing.

Perhaps even satellites you could put in orbit after doing the necessary research.

That sounds more like a mod. That's what's great about Rimworld. The potential with this setting for all these cool add-ons.

I never saw the appeal of burning clothing as it is all worth silver. Especially synthetic materials and devilstrand gear. Outfit manager works flawlessly when it comes to not wearing "unhappy gear".

2-3 weeks of Rimworld. Oh my.

If you are refering to the version mismatch warning with the latest hotfixes, you need not worry. They will not break your saves. Only bigger updates do.

For a proper nuckle-dragger experience, I would wait for Accension mod to go A14. For now, tribal start is like the lite version of that.

Now we're over 800 on the forum!!

Yes, I'm sure that's exciting, but we are just here to find out when we can get our game.

Also, I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't give a shit about Steam and would just like the next version of the game. 8)
