Had a raider pop off a doomsday on me last night. He hit my walled in generator causing like 90% damage, but also a huge area in front of the generator (he targeted a chicken I think). There were like 30+ tiles on fire right away.

All of that is OP enough, but the most amazing thing? The blast DESTROYED HIS CLOTHING. He was running around nude and bloodied till we cut him down. This type of thing is just... demoralizing. lol :P

It seems like, i haven't used it but i have one lying around just in case of a big raid or a siege or an alien attack.

O Negative

The blast radius is pretty crazy on those things. Imagine if they got more than one use out of them!

I used it only a few times. Its description is a bit misleading. It's NOT a single explosion, it works like Funky Bomb in the ancient game Scorched Earth. One primary explosion where it hits, then it splits and several smaller explosives fly in several directions. If your colonists are outside of the indicated blast radius, you can still hit them with secondary explosions.

I used it to survive a 50 man tribal raid in A13 ... nothing quite like pasting half a raid with one shot ...

It ain't called doomsday for no reason   :D

I use it against tribals:

Or when the AI comes with one, use a psychic insanity lance against one of them, ideally against one with a personal shield, and watch the fireworks:

It's really helpful, and fun.

Ha!  I remember that game!  Good times, that one...  This makes me want to buy and use one of these right now.

I've lost a colony to a doomsday.  Never used one myself, as they're often better to be sold.
Two tiers of construction jobs.  One for expensive/quality items, and one for walls/floors/etc.

LOL.  That's been my strategy for pirates with rocket launchers.  I haven't seen one with a doomsday launcher yet... awesome.

I just cant get over the fact it blew his clothing off. I was shocked enough by the explosion. I installed some long range turrets from "More vanilla turrets". I also installed a rocket battery which I can manually control the target for. If they ever bring another guy like that I will have them target him.

Imagine if we could create doomsday shells for mortars.

yes, and then the mortar misses and accidently blows up the other half of the map  ;D

You know, if you could very rarely loot (or find - ancient danger room) a doomsday mortar shell - that would be a niiice incentive to build mortars !
