Title: Is it possible to transfer my license from one platform to another?
Post by: gorgantaahst on September 11, 2020, 02:52:17 PM
700 hours on the steam version of Rimworld, so I can't refund. I've been using steam less and GOG more, and Rimworld is one of the only reasons I still haven't deactivated my Steam account. Is it possible for me to relinquish ownership of the game on steam (not asking for a refund!) in favor of GOG, or should I just bite the bullet and buy it again?

Ludeon is allowed to give out free steam key's if you bought the game over the Ludeon site, because steam would like to bind people to their plattform.
But honestly, do you think they would let you escape once they got you ? Transfer to their business rivals ?

well, if you have 700 hours in single player game, it's probably good game, but i will suggest you to get tin foil hat and stay on steam for mods, because you won't get steam workshop on GOG.

Yes, you have to manual click on update, but refering to many posting about unwanted mod updates isn't that the better solution ?
