I usually name mine after the asshole who suggests naming it unless I think of something better, like if the colonists all have some backstory in common or if I did a naming theme with my colonists.

General Discussion / How do you play this game?
September 04, 2014, 01:03:40 AM
Do you save and reload? Do you accept whatever happens to your colony? Will you reload if a death is unsatisfactory or felt unfair?

I've only reloaded twice, and both were because a colonists died because a roof collapsed. I did not want to lose a good colonist that way, I felt it wasn't satisfying in a narrative sense, so I reloaded. I also once reloaded a squirrel invasion death, because I had just lost a colony to squirrels and was very frustrated. The colony would later die to six centipedes and four scythers, we managed to kill the scythers but the centipedes just chew through everything, I think we only managed to kill two.

Anyway, I try not to reload unless the death is more frustrating than fair. I also always delete the colony after it is dead.

Does anyone know what this will be used for?

So, I made a mistake, friendly visitors were in my killbox when a raid started, turrets shot them, and a crazy three way battle ensued. All my turrets were destroyed, two or three of my colonists died, and then in the middle of the fight, I had to leave. So I saved and quit out. When I reloaded later the visitors were friendly again. As far as colony well being goes it's probably beneficial, but I was really looking forward to playing out that battle, even though it probably would have ended in everyone's death, it would have been a very satisfying ending to the colony.

I was on Randy Random and there was a crashed ship part on the map if that matters.

General Discussion / Visitors going crazy
August 22, 2014, 04:18:26 AM
Visitors will come to my colony, mill about, begin starving and then start shooting each other. It's very very annoying, and with Random storyteller can leave you with upwards of 20 bodies to clean up as well as a few injuries if you're not paying attention. So annoying. Is this intentional? Is there anyway the visitation time could be shortened so that they don't starve and go nuts before they leave? It would also be nice if when the visitors were leaving they carried off their injured, but I'm sure smarter and more realistic AI is coming in the future, I'm just very sick of gunfights breaking out on my front lawn because the visitors go nuts.

General Discussion / How to deal with dead bodies?
August 20, 2014, 04:49:46 AM
I have this problem every time I play the random storyteller. Through strange events, like visitors going crazy and turning on each other, or the ridiculously large visiting and attacking groups you can get at the same time, or just regular attacks by very large attack forces, I end up with a lot of dead bodies lying around. They drive my colonists crazy and then I lose. I don't know how to deal with the sheer magnitude of dead bodies I end up with. What should I do? I'm tired of losing games because of dead bodies.

So we won't be able to visit other areas of the planet?

Are we eventually going to be able to traverse the whole planet? Will there be other colonies? Is there some sort of site I can go to for a roadmap of game development that goes in depth on each module?

I didn't receive, email should be [email protected].

Thank you for making this game, it's really good and has eaten up most of my free time recently.
