Title: Question on raid points
Post by: Dodging Rain on November 22, 2015, 05:01:26 PM
What formula or variable determines on the number of points (strength) of raids that the storyteller sends to you?  Is it within one of the XML files or hard coded?

I just need to know in reference so I know how to minimize their strength while properly progressing mine as I am a player that tends towards base building but adjusting the difficulty feels a bit like a cop out.

All I know about them is the richer you are, the more come to kill you. You don't really want to stock up on anymore steel then you will use at the time you are using it. Also if any golden or silver weapons show up you never want to touch them or it spikes difficulty.

the story teller defs have some bit on raid scaling but I'm not sure if that's just the general over time kind of scaling or what =P

Besides that from what I've read from the changelog
it's tied more to the population count then combat strength and then to recent losses and colony wealth

so without better knowledge I'm certain the formula is hardcoded
