Greetings fellow Rimmers!
www.rimpeers.com just got online with the hope to become a home to every Rimworld player looking for a community and a place to hang!
I don't want to make an extremely long post because truth is the site just started, but it has the potential to become an amazing community for experienced and new Rimworld players.
I invite you all to register! We will be holding a poll next week when we get more users to decide on ventrillo or teamspeak for our voice communication servers!
Just like most things in life, the hardest part for our community is to START! I REALLY appreciate any members who trust in the site today! This is why, the members who prove to be active and devoted to our community will be candidates for Moderator spots we currently have open!
Invite any friends who might like to join, everyone is welcome!
Eh, may as well.
Let me get this straight: you advertise for the first RimWorld community website on the official RimWorld community website? :o
Could probably have been more aptly titled "First unofficial RimWorld Community." Or first player made etc. You get the gist.

This made me laugh (-:

Uhm... I'm quite sure the first RimWorld community is right here ^^'
This is the forum for all Ludeon studios, most games if not all of them don't only use the forums made by the game company but they seek other player made communities...The site is made 100% to find a group of people to play with and help each other play, sooner or later people migrate out of the official community into player made communities. If you don't want to join it's ok, I was just inviting anyone who was interested. And I am not selling anything just inviting to join.
I'm not sure I follow, have you heard of organization? We're currently in the Ludeon Forums's RIMWORLD area. This IS the place for the community as is, there's no mixing up on different games because they all have their own spot on the forums, here..
I don't see the need for a "community forum" when this one is perfectly fine.. Thus I will not register.
ezegom, don't get me wrong, you didn't do anything bad, it just seemed odd to me the way you named your topic. I personaly don't think that the RimWorld player pool is big enough to support two distinct communities yet, but you're free to make your own forum about RimWorld, of course. :)
And right now Ludeon Studios is limited to RimWorld, and there's no second game in sight for a few years at least.
Well, community site is a great idea, if you can back it up. You need to start up with guides or some database, some celebrities that know the game well, some modding if it's there... right now RimWorld is simply not big enough to break off of this forums, and there is actually not enough to build a new community on. There'll be time for that, no worries, just not right yet ;)
Sorry but when I first read the url, i thought of two things, rim world porn (oh god) and a peer review group for rimworld.
"Rimmers" is also a term I would rather not hear again :P
Yeah! Thanks mod for taking you time and posting... I see this, what some users may not be understanding is that Rimpeers is a community to find friends through Rimworld, play with them, etc and hopefully community members can start playing other games together with the result of attracting players outside of Rimworld to our community and then encouraging them to play Rimworld. I don't see why theres a lot of flaming towards this community, player made communities are essential for every video game to allow it to expand and be known by more people.. What many people might not be understanding is that the community isn't closed to Rimworld, it is based on RImworld but made so that members have people to play with ANY game they want...
Did you make the background/top banner yourself.
Or is that the background a forum user who is also known as the guy who draws eggplanets?

Out of decency did you ask if you could use it?
And nice graveyard you got m8 (-:
I never even manage to get that far.. Always run into something i need/want to reproduce do better or chance.

Going on you saying its not a "pure" RimWorld community, why choose a RimWorld basis? Rimpeers? Should make it more generic if you are expecting to make it more of a gaming community?
I think what Eze is trying to get at is that everything doesn't have to be done on the official site and there can be others. Not to put anything in the spotlight, but one thing I have noticed with the StoneHearth forums is that it is disorganized and highly unappealing. By creating another community it allows for a little more diversity. Ludeon games forums could remain as a dedicated bug reports, suggestions, and general development specific inquiries as it is easy for Ty to monitor them. A new community, however, may branch more into stories, discussions, videos, fan art etc. The more creative aspects of it. I'm not saying it needs to happen or that it should, I'm just saying it may not be a bad idea.
If you want an example, one of my favourite communities is Simtropolis.com. It's a bit different as it covers a series, but it is definitely different from simcity.com which does have its own forums and community. These two co-exist and supplement each other, neither harms the other.
Sure maybe it's a bit early for a branch, but the community will grow rapidly and people need to be open to new ideas and this is a pretty clean one.
I admire the ambition, however the existing forum is hardly active enough to warrant another.

I'm scared to think where you might have heard it the first time :P
