Title: Point-based character generation
Post by: hector212121 on April 16, 2015, 11:14:43 AM
Character randomization is TEDIOUS, and you rarely get something you like. Often, you have to settle.

Your 3 starters are the most important. I suggest the ability to nudge values, or tag things you want and things you're willing to give up, along with mark qualities you don't want and ones you do.

Then, the game comes up with something that sums to X points, with negative traits being worth negative, mixed traits worth little, and good traits worth positive points. Interests would cost 1 point, and passions would cost 5.

Sound like a reasonable idea?

I know it isn't vanilla, but this exactly what edb's prepare carefully mod does.

I would simply be happy with being able to constrain the biological age.
