Title: About timetables
Post by: Dave-In-Texas on April 22, 2015, 08:57:15 AM
I've seen a lot of discussion on joy and timetables (on youtube lets plays specifically, looking at you Blitz *grin*).  there seems to be an assumption that pawns only change clothes if 'anything' is in the timetable.

i use:

This isn't the only working variation, just wanted to share a visual.  I rarely have trouble with happiness once i've built a horseshoe pit and chess table to give them more variety.

They also put on clothes as necessary..  and as you can see I have zilch on the anything time :)

Oh they'll do what is needed regardless of what they have on the schedule
They only prioritize the given things but do things if the threshold for that is low enough like changing clothes!

I suggest 6h of sleep is no enough. Colonist will slowly get more and more exhausted at the end of every day, and causes mood debuffs.
And i would add 3 h of "anything" in the middle of the day instead of 1h of joy to compensate the needs of each individual. Strong colonists will work more, weak, depressive, pessimists... will increase their mood on their own, or exhausted have time to get enough sleep

in practice  they're fully rested each morning, but then i gave them beds as a priority as sleeping on rocks sucks.  I can see adjusting the schedule for individual colonist needs though if i had trouble.  Also have no problems with joy, but yeah adding anything time instead of joy is a good idea.  I dont think it needs to be all at once; i think scattering it through the day is a bit more efficient - but to each his own.
