Only reason I bring it up is that hunting can be inefficient, or not wanted/difficult especially with the new area mechanic. Also with the new area mechanic it would be simpler(?) to implement, though disclaimer, I have no idea how rimworld is programmed.
I can already see morale lost for non free range chicken eggs from all those cave chickens
