Title: [Request] Scrap clothing
Post by: Pink Photon on June 16, 2015, 02:41:02 PM
I'd like to be able to break down clothing into usable textiles at a tailor's bench. It seems like you should be able to copy the recipe for smelting weapons and then adjust it so that it works for clothes instead, but I can't get it to work. I feel like I need to modify something outside of Recipes_Production, but I can't figure out what.

I searched for mods before posting, and then found that one right after posting. However, it looks like that mod converts all clothes into basic cloth, not the type of texile the clothing was made out of.

doing the conversion back to what its made from is impossible in the current state of the game, trust me Shinzys been trying to do this forever with apparello, I even had a bash at it on his behalf the best we would do was a hacky attempt using the fabric name in the title of the item, if the items could store a reference to what they were made out of this would be possible, I do feel its a limitation of the stuff system that should get fixed one day, but its not important to the base game really so isnt important.

Using Abrexus' Superior crafting mod, when I smelt a steel weapon I get steel bars and when I smelt a plasteel weapon I get plasteel bars. Does apparel use a different system from weapons?
