If you were a colonist watching the sun set, which direction would you be facing?

My colonists always seem to watch the sunset while standing on their heads.

Either West or East-ish? Can't recall which direction the shadows travel in.

To the west. All planets rotate the same as earth at the moment.

As the sun goes down the shadows fall to the west (a little south-west actually). Which means the sun is setting East-Northeast (according to the shadows, about 70 degrees) - we'll just say it sets in the East. This appears to be the same regardless of latitude or time of year.
I just wanted to point out, in case no one noticed, that the sun sets in the East, not the West like you might assume.

But do we know for sure? Maybe the map is just upside-down. After all, orienting north to "up" is a purely arbitrary convention.
