Title: Possibly incorrect UI/Missing build items?
Post by: xevenis on August 11, 2015, 09:07:16 PM
Hi guys,
So I downloaded the Ultimate Overhall Mod Pack for A11d.  I followed the instructions explicitly a few times!  But I'm obviously missing something because I keep getting the same issue... (first time trying to mod Rimworld)

I think the user interface is wrong.  A lot of options I think are out of place and I think there are some missing build items that should be available I think.  Or maybe I'm wrong?

Issues:
I can't build double beds, solar power, wind power, the single beds or turrets I can build are only one type of material (such as boomrat leather or muffalo) which changes per new game.  Also for beds, turrets and a few other items, there is no option to change the materials to build with something else.

Essentially I think some items I thought should be available are not available to build.  Or am I totally wrong and need to research stuff?  I did check on youtube at other people playing and their architect UI does not look like mine.  See picture for example.

Any ideas what I did wrong and how to fix?

Much appreciated!

Have you tried activating god-mode and seeing if things are thier? If they are then you just have to research them.

You need to have the material in your stockpile to be able to use select them.

This is totaly the wrong place for this... The 'Bugs' & 'Support' forums are only for Vanilla(A.K.A. unmodded) Rimworld. If you truely think this is a bug put it in the mod*'s thread so that the dev of the mod* can see it. He is the only person you can realy help you.

*Since its a modpack put it in the modpack's thread, not the modder's.

Aye, as The Gentleman has stated, this is most definitely the wrong place to put mod bugs or errors, as the bugs forum is for issues relating to Vanilla Rimworld, and the support forum is generally for the rest, (hardware and accounts for instance)

Ah, thanks for whoever transfered this post over to the Mods section.  I saw Support and assumed that's where support would come from.

Anyway, no I understand how the game works with resources required for the construction of certain things but the issue is I am not given the option to change the material required for the item.  Has anyone come across this before or are aware of a solution?

Thanks.

I'm not sure, but I think in the mod pack a lot of things are only available after you've researched it.
Most likely you can activate the godmode to take a look, if it will be available after some research.
In godmode all items, regardless of the research level are shown.

Oh and for the support and bug folder: These are for vanilla RimWorld only.
Problems with mods should be asked here or in the thread of the mod in the mod-release section itself.

Double beds were in fact removed and replaced with single Cloth Beds

You must first have different resources available and does NOT need to be in the stockpile just available before you can change what resource you can build structures out of

You must research Power II to unlock Solar Generators

You must research Power I to unlock wind turbines

I have updated architect menu that is why it looks different from Midnight Snack Games architect menu since he is running an older version of the modpack.

This thread should be removed and any future issues you may have can be posted directly on my Modpack page or I will not see them.

Cheers!
