my idea: there is full mounten map.. and you start with your pawns at any location in this mountain ... and there is a stargate ... and from this stargate comes the attackers...
its easy to understand i think ...
its easy to write this mod?
anyone else have interest in this mod?

There is stargate mod already but it's not about raiders coming from it - that mod is about sending pawnsa and items to another save.

yeah i know this mod.. but... i dont know ... i dont like this mod ... there is to much other stuff what i dont like.. ^^
and you cant create a full mountain map at this mod.. :/
after some thinking, if found some problems... what with the power? or plants? my idea was "there is absolutly no outside" ... so we need some geo-holes in the near of base ... for the plants... i dont know the english name of the (hydro-cultures ? ^^) .. thats why you need many power... because if you god ... i dont know... maybe 20+ pawns... they need a lot of plants ... and this cost many power ... so if you got some better ideas... feel free to tell us ^^

About your stuff. It's not that hard. (btw why you need 20+ paws? In all games number of paws more like 10+-5, I guess) I think you need "a cave biome":
no sun light,
no weather and seasons,
no trees and normal plants/animals,
natural border around a map maybe,
geysers like in normal maps,
cave system (?) and portal in the center.
Looks playable.
You don't need extra energy, because only difficult part is no sunlight- just build more sunlight lamps and problem solved.
I like idea of "map with portal", looks like sort of tower/hero defense game.

My mod is setup to be modular so you can have just the Stargate part enabled if you want. But yes it isn't doing what you asked about with raids coming from the Gate.
Would it be very hard to add an Event that chooses a random (powered?) Stargate, if one exists, which spawns a bunch of pirates or mechs?
I'm not a DLL modder but i'm pretty sure this would require some C# skills.
maybe you can add the stargate to the counstruction menu. then you dont get any raids at the start.
and ofc the stargate must have a connection to the power.
or you start in a room with a few pawns, the stargate and a powersource (that only works with the stargate maybe?)
and ofc i have sometime 30-50 pawns in my world... i love to play with tons of pawns... that is... sometimes so confusing XD but rly funny... i am a soft player... play on a easy mode (not the easierst... but ofc not the hardest ^^)

thx dude.. the mod is allready updated... so i need now a stargate and a few geothermal spots.. ^^
Might be able to make it like the ancient rooms, and change the cryptosleep casket size to be a 'stargate', have it spawn in ancient rooms by itself and drop several enemies, like cryptocaskets normally do, as who knows what would be at the other end?
^ That's a really awesome idea. My suggestion for 'at the other end' of the gate would be a massive ruin and/or active pirate base. How awesome would it be to generate a map full of pirates & traps & treasure, and send your colonists on the attack!
that could be realy nice. i dont know how this c# works.. but if you know... i would modding myself...
a new feature of rimworld is, that you can send your pawns to missions... or not? that would be nice if you can send you pawns through the stargate...
