Title: Possible to replace sound effects?
Post by: KlickVonKlack on October 10, 2015, 10:47:09 AM
Has anyone had any luck replacing sound effects in game?  I'm looking for a tutorial that will let me do this.

The wiki has an article about this, some details are outdated, but it should give an introduction.

You can also look at for example my cats mod, where I've added new sounds for various (wild) cats.

If you just want to replace one or more specific sounds, you should also be able to just put the sounds in the right path, I think it'll overwrite core resources in the same way that custom graphics will override core resources if they're in the right path. Failing that, adding new xml's for the sounddefs you want to replace will definitely work.
