Title: Ramsonware
Post by: Listen1 on April 11, 2016, 09:45:19 AM
Guys, my company server got hit bt a ramsonware.

This goes without saying, but if you do not have a full backup of all the data of your company that automaticly, please, DO IT.

I would have lost all my company data if I didn't set a 12 hour full backup.

Btw, that is the most bizarre and fucked up virus i've ever seen. Really, cryptograph my data and ask for 3000USD to receive the key? Fuck that's bellow dirty.

We uses 6 backups at my company and they backup every 30 mins then lockout. We have to have a corporate login to access them.

Yeah, I've heard of those nasty buggers.  Some of them even masquerade as "upgraded security" or some nonsense.

There are also programs you can boot via USB, to delete the ransomware, before it boots itself.
Something called Hitman, if I am not wrong.

I've been dealing with ransomware at my work the last couple of weeks. A server got hit, and it started a process that went out to every machine and windows share it could find and encrypted it all. I got my server back fine from backups, but the laptops it hit were all hosed.
