Changelog 1.3 (New game required dont work with version 1.2)
Undone alot of stuff from previous version to keep thing simple.
+Added refined steel recipe in the smelter (good for weapon crafting and creating strong wall)
Changelog 1.2
+Added iron ingot recipe
+Changed starting resource
+Steel ingot now require iron ingot and coal
+Fixed mineable iron ore frequency (increased)
(iron ingot material quality is lower than the core game steel, steel ingot is higher)
Changelog 1.1
+Increased coal ore starting resource
+Added a recipe to burn wood to coal
+Fixed silver vein producing jade
Havent tested but looks very good
what about the compacted steel all the recipe use, did you take that into factor?
Yes
Coal + iron = compacted steel (with a new texture and label title change to steel ingot)
I tried this mod a few times, and every time, the coal you start with runs out, and there is very little extra visible compared to all the iron. Perhaps making the recipe more real-world, and make it a much higher concentration of iron ore to coal.
Love this Mod. I dont even played it but that is what i want to do. Make the progression a bit harder. My Opinion was Circuit Boards too.
Hi thank you for your feedback did an update wich help with coal early on.
It hard to balance the presence of coal and iron where RNG is a big factor and there not much mineable rock on plain map.
For the Most Items Steel is just a Material like Wood or so.. why dont u make Iron Bars too with just lesser Durability. Tweaking woud take some time.. ;)
Hey
Took your idea and added the feature to the mod :P
You could also make coal craftable using wood and maybe the smiting table to make charcoal. There is already another mod that makes charcoal though so I can see some conflicts unless you just name the output coal, or duplicate the other mods recipe so all that would change would be the resource image used depending on load order. Up to you, but it would be a permanent fix to the coal issue and you'd still need to import ore eventually as well.
Added this feature in 1.1 you can turn wood log or wood plank to coal
Sorry havent downloaded/used but I have a questions:
- Is steel ore/veins still available ? I'm just thinking that most workbenches require steel and it might a be difficult to find coal/iron ore before crafting essentials workbenches.
Almost every time you generate a map there some coal to mine + you start with 200 witch will give you 800 steel ingot and you can turn wood to coal. If you tech smithing and build extractor on coal vein you can pump out 7500 coal over time.
Hi there changed the mod for something more simpler. This might not get much more change, so it can sink in peace now. :P
Cya
Love your concept, pretty unique compared to what we've seen earlier. I liked it when you made compacted steel -> Iron, it honestly had flavor to it.
i am guessing you have to start a new colony to get the most out of this mod?
