Title: Changelog: new doors
Post by: Ozog on February 25, 2014, 12:49:31 PM
From the Changelong:  "Added simple door. Cheaper, but cannot be powered."

Does this mean the colonists must "open" the door to use it?  (As they do now when the current doors are depowered, that slight pause before crossing the threshold.)

Yes; it's just a cheaper door that can't be powered. It won't be in Alpha 2, though.

If you've added it, why won't it be in the build? :)

Because he already is finishing up the release build.
This is just a new thing to be excited about for the alpha 3

Between the next DF release and Alpha 2, I don't know what I'm going to do with my life. Any chance there are any millionaires out there who want to pay me to play videogames?

No?

Anyway, it should be easy to mod in unpowered doors, if one really wants them. I'm anticipating a half a dozen door mods available within the first day, quite frankly.

Actually, it isn't... which is why I made the simple door in the first place. It required me to split the power/unpower code from the door code, which was simple, but isn't in A2.
