Title: "Target amount" instead of creating bills.
Post by: Ekornserk on February 26, 2014, 05:11:13 PM
Just played around a little with Alpha 2. Read another post about bills being a bit heavy on the micromanagement side, and I agree.

Suggestion:
Instead of bills, players should define a "target amount" and the game should create the bills automatically.

So allow the player to define a target of "5 simple meals". Then the cooks will keep making meals until the target is reached, then stop. When meals are eaten and storage goes below our target, they automatically start making new meals until the target is reached again.

Instead of prioritizing bills, we should prioritize targets.

Not instead of bills I wouldn't say. Production lines could easily become more complex later down the line such that you don't always want resources to be replaced when they are used, in which case it again becomes extra micromanagement to cancel the craft to order. In addition to ordering a specific amount though, this would be a grand idea.

This is on the to-do list, but I'll prioritize it up.
