Love the new events, however some of them piled with or followed by other events makes things very difficult to deal with, and can cripple a colony early on. As someone else posted, making events based on history allows you to at least have the option to defend against events. Some suggestions for Events I have seen.
Zzzzzt = Surge Protectors added near battteries (using the area similar, but much smaller, of a turret)
Faulty Conduit Explosion = variable layered power circuit, less resources more prone to faults, more resources better protection
Toxic Fallout = Gas Mask equitable on head (if it was a shorter event it may not be so deadly, if longer this will help when multiple issues occur)
Disease = Vaccine
Blight = Pesticides or something similar (more organic)
Flash Storm (or other lightning in general) = lightning rods (area of protection like a turret, but smaller)
Psychic Drone = a soothing mood enhancer placed in bedroom can mitigate it for some time
Most other ones I've seen/read already have a form of protection like Heat Wave/Cold Snap has A/C and Heaters, raids have turrets and personal weapons, animals have personal weapons (would love for a turret option of hostile only, hostile people only, and free-for-all etc).
