Things like Jade, Uranium, and Plasteel, which are amplified vastly in cost when used to construct things, don't seem to be available in such quantities. Other times, I see people commenting like "just make a masterwork royal bed", as if gold were easy enough to come by that you could simply set your 20 skill constructor to make six of them.
The rooms are 7x19, with zero instances of compacted plasteel, gold, or uranium. About 6600 tiles mined out. Is this normal? Are they just rare and I'm unlucky? Do they only appear in certain biomes? Do the inside of mountains have special rules for ore spawning?

Yea, that's pretty normal. They are rare and random, some maps I have been on have had zero gold, silver or jade, I was actually really surprised to find jade ore in my third map.
Most people do not get their rarer resources from mining, they get them from trading, but in A15 they should be a little easier to come by late game.
Rare and valuable means exactly that; rare and valuable. You can buy what you need from traders though.
Guess you found some silver at least, and steel of course, with all that mining? And yes, it is abit unlucky not finding eighter plasteel, gold, jade or uranium after so much mining. Most of the time you'll find at least one of those with so much mining.
Lol I feel a little bad with my current map... It has all jada, uranium, plasteel, and silver in abundance. Unfortunately I've started as a tribe so it's no good to me and won't be for a long while...
It depends on the seed, the map I am currently playing on I've found a lot of plasteel and gold, but zero uranium or jade.
I had a jade bonanza in my map.
But all the gold I have comes from trading.
