Title: Just a little thing
Post by: mattfreeman on September 07, 2016, 12:53:36 PM
For some time i wondered why i was losing so much power found out that sun lamps are not normal lamps and found out that they drain 1600W i quickly uninstalled those sun lamps and installed normal standing lamps

Sun lamps are for growing crops indoors (greenhouses with soil or hydroponics basins). The power requirement is meant as a balance against the immense growth speed of hydroponics.

Also to make Tundra games interesting.  You have plenty of farmland, but you have to box it in greenhouses to keep it warm and then turn on the sunlamp to get stuff to grow. So you don't need quite as much steel as on an ice sheet (hydroponics not needed) but you still need plenty for the power.

Boreal forest is also nice for greenhouses.
