I was listening a StarTalk episode on Human Endurance in Space (https://soundcloud.com/startalk/cosmic-queries-human-endurance-in-space), and at 22:44 (https://soundcloud.com/startalk/cosmic-queries-human-endurance-in-space#t=22:44) Neil and Chuck started to talk about the Founder Effect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Founder_effect#Founder_effects_in_human_populations). I wonder if this could somehow be applied to RimWorld? If not in game, then perhaps in Fanfiction of it :D
DISCUSS!
They'd have to breed first...
Well, the RW galaxy is of planets separated by the distance of space. This effect would be more pronounced the further the planet is from the galactic core. Maybe this could happen if not to the colonists then to the tribes on the planet.
It could also happen to some of the colonists, so for example one colonist came from a planet where the leader is The One, and another came from a more democratic planet.
Alright, here's a closer example. A Russian, a North Korean, and an American drop onto a foreign planet. One, who would lead? Two, why? Three, how? It's essentially a cultural clash, but on an interplanetary scale.
