sorry if this is a retarded question, but whats with blast charges? are they a mod or part of the actual game?

They were at one stage part of the game, but due to their OPness, they were removed. Commencing disgruntlement from some members here on the forums, they were added back in as a mod which could be turned on if so desired by the player. Are they part of the actual game? Your choice :)

They were removed for bein over powered. Hope they bring em back but a less destructive version

The ability to trigger them yourself is what made them OP, regular step-on-mines would been a more sensible alternative for the vanilla game. But I don't think we'll need that kinda defense alternatives before we start seeing mechanoids among the raiding factions.

Could someone link me to a mod that puts the Blast Charges back into the game? I've tried to look for them - but I just keep running into threads like these talking about how they're missing...

It's included in the download, just check the "Mods" section in starting menu.

Oh - hadn't noticed that... a game that comes with built in mods, now that's a first :)
