I'm sure you've seen people that develop this paranoia that no one likes them and they begin to overanalyze every conversation and see insults where there are none. Perhaps pawns could develop such a state and crash their mood.
I have a pawn where he is Staggeringly Ugly and he gets insulted like 5 times a day, even when he is about to die, he gets insulted, and starts wandering.

There are legit cases like this, but I like OPs idea, there are people like that... Have you heard of "mansplaining" or "manspreading"?
