Title: Deep Mining Drill
Post by: Woodlin4000 on December 07, 2016, 02:36:32 PM
I know how to use it and everything my question is how much do you get out of a deposit? I've been mining a silver vein and it just doesn't seem to end.

1350, if the following is still correct, and depending on the size of the deposit.
Each cell = 150 minerals
Drill's max reach = 9 cells
Thus, 150 * 9 = 1350.

A silver deposit can be as small as 7 cells, so (if you reach them all) the total for that would be 1050.

Doesn't each vein have 2 full stacks, not necessarily 150 stuff?  Therefore max silver would have 1350*20=27000 silver? That seems like too much tho.

To quote the wiki "Each cell can be mined twice, turning from yellow to red before depletion. Each extraction produces 75 resources. Each cell contains 150 resources.". So 1350 it is.

Wikis can be wrong. Using them in lieu of direct evidence is a hit-and-miss affair.

But having deep mined silver in-game, I can confirm it's 150 total per tile (75 x 2). Which means it is actually generally a waste of time for money making. Basically everything else you can deep mine is worth more per unit than silver (even steel).

Hopefully, that gets balanced out in the future.
