Title: Caoturing prisoners after attack
Post by: astronoth on December 21, 2016, 05:38:59 PM
Does anybody know a way to capture the downed enemy survivors once victorious over an enemy outpost?

Huh. Have you tried building a sleeping spot and designate as "for prisoner"?

Probably you need to build a small room for him too. If thats the case it would be pretty unfair since raids can just kidnap anyone and run.

Do you have empty prison space back at the colony?

In order to capture someone, you'll need a designated prison - basically just a room with a bed or a sleepingspot. This needs to be its own room. You can decorate it with pretty much what you want - or with as little as you want, provided you have somewhere for them to sleep.

Then you just need to click on the bed, and hit the "For prisoners" button. This turns the room into a prison cell for all intents and purposes.

To capture someone, once you have the prison-cell:

They will then pick up the raider in question and take them to the prison-cell and put them in the bed.

Make sure you have a medic to tend to them as soon as you can, because if they are downed, then they are probably going to die without medical attention. You should also select the quality of medicine you want to use on them.
After this, go to the "Prisoner" tab on them, and select what actions to take regarding treatment and\or recruitment.
It's all pretty self-explanatory when you see it.

So @ReZpawner, when attacking an enemy base, do you need to build a prison on-site?

You do need to build a prison onsite.

And if you do that, then you can leave the map with the prisoner?

I claimed a spot, is there any difference?

I would assume that you can leave with them. I haven't actually tried it becausey prisoner died in the peg leg surgery.

Considering the way pirates take hostages by hauling them off the map, it seems like an oversight that players cannot do the same.

Still, it's fairly easy to claim the abandoned outpost buildings and capture prisoners just long enough to patch up their injuries, then reform caravan. Incapacitated prisoners (and colonists) can leave right away, and can even carry their full weight's worth of loot. Which seems like another oversight, not that I'm complaining. On your feet, maggot!

The sleeping spot is for free and doesn't cost any resource. But like the others said: Prisoner needs a room . That means walls and a roof and door.
