Hello, the purpose of this topic is to have folks post their system specs and average fps in Rimworld to give others and Tynan an idea of what hardware is capable of running Rimworld at a playable frame rate.
Also please update your average fps when you switch to newer versions of Rimworld and/or your hardware changes. This will help Tynan get a better idea of how the updates/changes effect framerates and give a better base line for potential system requirements (Min, Recommended, Etc.).
This isn't a pc/mac peen comparing contest, nor is it meant to be a tech support topic, so let's keep on subject shall we?
I'll start it off

Lot of people playing on laptops. Note to self: optimize more.
Seems to run pretty well on my old hardware. i have another computer lying around that i might try the linux version of the game on as i run puppy linux from a disk on that system. it's really old, ddr ram, single core athalon64. i'd be interested in it's current fps on something like that. Glad you checked out the thread Tynan.
How does the game show the FPS? Is there an ingame counter?

Looks fine FTDlulz. bigwolf, are you sure it's one of those two dx versions? a windows 7 os should have at least 10 and with the updates should be at 11 by now? just curious. thanks for posting guys. also bigwolf what was the map size that you tested on?
yes I have both set up to do rust needing dirx 9 and another game that's combat only with 10 at the moment and it was on a normal size map I think that's 250-250 with mods

EDIT: Forgot to mention the resolution I play on: 1980 x 1080
yeah, i have been contemplating weather or not to include resolution, it's so random what people use. but i'm sure it's still helpful to Tynan to see what people run the game at from a technical perspective at least.

Also, why is this game fps capped?

Also, why is this game fps capped?
It's fixed-timestep, so every "tick" is 1/60th of a second regardless of the actual time.
Anyway, I see little benefit in uncapping FPS for this kind of game. It's not an FPS and there's no need to compress your latency under 33ms (and anyway, the hardware cursor has a lot less latency than the rest of the screen already).
