Title: vertical wind turbine
Post by: giannikampa on March 28, 2017, 02:23:04 AM
because there is no wind direction in rimworld and these turbine have no reason to be placed this or that way, i suggest to substituite actual ones with vertical ones, they are round symmetrical and would fit so well. maybe one more tile all around has to be free from tall objects to not influence the power output

some sience: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertical_axis_wind_turbine

I'd rather see directional wind, could expand the fire spreading mechanic too.

would directional wind change over time? if so wind turbines had to rotate properly to align.. so much useless work IMO. Again vertical turbine comes in help

Doh sorry, there is currently no A16 mod with the vertical windturbine, only the hardcore modpack got them include. And there is no way just to use these from the modpack.
But if you like to play it:
