Title: Baited trap
Post by: Edixo on April 08, 2017, 05:04:06 AM
I have a deadfall trap

I have some bait

BOOM

Automated hunting

Seriously, there's no reason not to be able to put food in a trap to attract wild animals. Or your own animals,  if you set it somewhere they can get to it. Of course,  it'd not be a guaranteed trap fall,  and it might not do enough damage to kill the animal.

Veggies for plant eaters. Meat for carnivores. Kibble for both.

You can already shoot wild animal while they're eating, they won't revenge

You can, sort of. I noticed the wildlife likes to raid my rice paddies, so I started placing traps near the inside of the nearest choke points to my paddies & placing a tile of hay growth on the far (for animals approaching my compound, near for pets leaving it) side of the trap with hay storage tiles on either side of the growth spot

Cage and pit traps for capturing animals alive would be good too.

Best you could do at the moment is grow a bit of delicious devilstrand at the end of a 1 tile corridor.
