Title: @Ty: Do you have a Patreon account.
Post by: Casazzo on May 21, 2017, 06:28:32 AM
Hi

Can you please send me your patreon account via PM? Or post it here.

Seeing the game constantly improved in a very good way and having played it for more than 500hours times and again i feel like i underpayed. So i want to support the ongoing developement.

AFAIK Tynan does not have a Patreon account, and reading between the lines of a recent comment he made in a suggestions thread, I get the impression that he's not looking for any donations either.

There's no danger of us having to stop development due to a lack of funds.

If you really want to support Tynan and his creation, that being RimWorld, then I would think by far the best option would be to either purchase one of the extras (DLC), such as Name in Game via Steam. Or...

If you've done that already, and don't want to go so far as to purchase the Backstory or Pirate King packs, then why not buy a copy of the game for a friend? That way someone else gets to play and enjoy the game, who might not have done otherwise, and you've helped support Tynan for creating the game. So win win win for you, your friend, and Tynan. And if you buy it direct from Ludeon Studios then all your support goes directly to Tynan without Steam getting a share of your support (last time I checked it was simple to buy a copy as a gift direct from Ludeon).

i would disagree Rimworld for what it is looks to be very profitable it has made nearly 20 million dollars. It is currently sitting at 19,865,520 dollars.
Edit: (Note:Numbers refer and are from steam(spy))

Thx Calahan. I will do that.

I still like the idea of Patreon. Supporting an ongoing developement and being able to stop it, if the need arises because of different reasons. I am doing that with dwarf fortress and some other things i visit playing regularly.

There's always someone begging around for people to buy them a copy of the game... there's one today on the subreddit. So I mean if you want to get Tynan some additional sales I guess that would be a way to do it and would make some random internet stranger happy.

But like the others have said, Tynan has made it clear he's not hurting for cash - he's sold us a great game at a more-than-fair price, it seems like he's happy with the old adage that a great deal leaves both parties feeling like they got the best side of the bargain.

Hey I appreciate the thought! But no, I don't have a patreon.

If you want, the best thing would be to just gift RW to some friends or family from rimworldgame.com (so Steam doesn't take a cut). Gifting has more winners anyway.
